Fuel rail issue and build delay

Just found out from my dealer that my car, midnight blue metallic, 20", base MT with sport chrono, PASM, LED HLs, all leather is delayed until July due to a fuel rail issue. I ordered the car mid-December. Anyone else here of this delay?

I had read that there is a recall underway for some screws that might come loose and allow fuel to spray onto a hot engine block. This is for a series of 718s and 991's that were built last year. Don't know if your car is involved, but I am surprised because your car is a later build.

My GT silver Boxster S MT was ordered after yours and is already on the ship headed to Port of Davisville.

I guess it's better to have a fixed from factory 718 rather than have it and then take it back for the recall?

Recall completed at my dealer, Campaign AH01 Scope 7, total time 5.25....Stopped by dealer just to check on a Nav update which they also completed WG47. Also completed WG44-reprogram PDK control unit.

Hopefully, thats it for awhile

How long did it take them to perform the recall services?

Lurker,

I dropped it off at 2 pm on Wednesday and it was done at 2 pm on Friday. Most the time was involved with the lowering of the engine to gain access to fastening screws for the fuel collection pipe. Wish it didn't have to be done, but it could have been a safety issue. the good news is the car seems as perfect as it went in, no leaks no rattles, trim and everything looks perfect. They also completed WG55, Retrofitting security wheel bolts.

Here is what was on the service invoice IRT to AH01: "Put convertible top in service position. R/I convertible top compartment trim panel. Engine compartment lid,air cleaner housing, rear wheels, rear underbody cover, and diagonal braces on the rear axle. Then lowered the engine to gain access to fastening screws for fuel collection pipe." They also realigned the car.

Hope that helps.

Definitely helps a lot, thanks!

Definitely a lot of work but hey, it's covered, so why not. Once everything gets put back together nice and tight like it left the factory, you can't go wrong.
