I'm considering ordering a Cayman with Graphite Blue exterior with Graphite Blue/Chalk Sport-Tex seats. Does anyone have any feedback on the Sport-Tex seats and/or any pictures they can share? None of the dealers in my area have any Caymans in stock with those seats.
This video has a look at the blue/chalk sport-tex seats. I've followed this guy for a couple of years now. He'll be releasing his delivery video of his new 911 c4s soon. Had real problems with his last 911. Anyway, he ordered the blue/chalk interior with night blue exterior. I personally love it. he is extremely happy with the blue/chalk.
If you guys think letting dogs in that is bad, try a 911 GT3 Targa, brand new. There's a couple I know who does that and its a beater to them. This just goes to show how some people view these, to some people they wouldn't even drink water in it, to others its nothing! I see it all the time.
Kind of funny how we all seem to follow Nick & Tui on their Porsche adventures. His mistake with the parking break was...
...sort of Epic. @lajoiedp: What ever happened with your order? Did you go for it? And did you choose the Sport-Tex?
I'd really appreciate some input on that, since I actually ordered Sport-Tex for my 718.

I just placed my order 2 days ago. I ended up opting for GT Silver exterior with all leather interior in Black/Bordeaux Red. I liked the Sport-Tex seats but when I decided on GT Silver as my exterior color the Black/Bordeaux Red leather interior was the better choice - IMHO.
I have had my Sport-Tex for a few months now. It is excellent!
Not hot during 30-40 Celsius days even with shorts on. Conversely not cold either in the morning.
Great grip of your body when doing spirited corners.
Seems to be wearing extremely well. No signs of wear at all.
The looks is amazing too!
Thanks for the update on the Sport Tex seats RsZk! I went to the dealership a couple weeks ago to test them out with the sport seats plus 18 way. The fit was extremely comfortable and will be going on my configuration for sure! Glad they were an option as I have never been a fan of leather seats.
I concur with @RsZk in regards to the Sports Tex seats.
I also have them, and they are wonderful. They are very durable and very comfortable, and they look great! I was worried about how it would look, but genuinely, the interior is fantastic. The stitching used is also a very slight yet elegant touch.
I live in a much colder climate, and so far my early morning drives have been very comfortable.
I highly recommend them to any prospective Porsche owners!
Personally I like the look & feel of leather, but then the area I live in also has a very temperate climate. For anyone that regularly experiences more extreme temperatures then leather is all around a pretty lousy choice of seat covering (horribly cold or hideously hot & uncomfortable) & certainly not the one that I'd choose. I'd do exactly what you did & RsZK's photo's do far better justice to what Sport Tex looks like as a seat covering than anything I've seen on the official Porsche website. Very nice indeed!
Finally decided to register for the forum when I saw this post. The dealer near me has a 2018 Boxster with this exact combo and I snapped a few pics of the interior last summer when I went for a test drive. The Graphite Blue and Blue/Chalk Sport-Tex combo looks great together. I'm definitely going with the Sport-Tex seats for my own build, but still deciding on color - and lots of other things. When I did the test drive, it was a hot day and the sun was out, but the seats stayed very comfortable. Don't think you can go wrong with this choice. If you got your car, hope you like the seats.
I ordered the same colored Sport-Tex seats in my build. I have yet to see them in person. I've seen the black Sport-Tex and they looked and felt Great! I live in Arizona, so the summers are brutal here. Leather is really not a good option, if it can be avoided. I'm glad Porsche gave us a non leather option, let alone one that looks so good. Leather looks great, but I believe the Sport-Tex seats will be cooler in the summer than leather seats with ventilation and warmer in the winter. Plus, I believe it adds a really unique look to the interior... Just my 2 cents...
I think the Sport-Tex look great. I just wish I could get them with the two-tone black / beige, and with ventilation. Neither is available. /forum/images/718forum/smilies/tango_face_sad.png
...as I mentioned, if I had a choice, I'd pick the "tex" material over leather any day. Its comfortable,
durable, and extremely easy to clean and maintain. My "play car" has it, in all white no less, and still looks brand new with no creasing or cracks after 10 years. Love the stuff! Unfortunately, not enough color options available....expanded offerings would be nice...?
