Techart Tuned Porsche 718 Boxster

TechArt, a German automobile tuning company, will be debuting their Porsche 718 Boxster upgrade package at the 2016 Essen Motor Show this week.

Staying as close to the original design as possible, the exterior looks to be sporting a few simple changes including a small front spoiler lip, a rear diffuser, side skirts, rear spoiler and a set of 21 inch Formula IV wheels with yellow accents. That’s just enough to give the 718 Boxster a bespoke look.

Inside the cabin, TechArt will be offering a “Type 7” sport steering wheel with leather, carbon fiber and lacquering applications. Customers can also get custom-painted trims, decorative stitching and more.

Aesthetics aside, GTSpirirt said the Techart tuning package will give the 718 Boxster’s 2.0-liter turbocharged flat-four a power bump for a total of 400 horsepower. That’s a 100 hp jump in the standard 718 Boxster and 50 hp in the Boxster S. On top of the tune, it’ll also be getting a new sport exhaust system complete with titanium tailpipes and carbon fibre tips.

Techart should release detailed specs a the show and if you’re near Essen, why not stop by and take a look.

Love that spoiler on the rear there. The accenting is nice, not overly done but enough to notice it with the little bits of carbon on the interior. 400hp would definitely make this thing darn fun to drive. Kinda hoped they would do some sort of suspension modifications. Or has that not been listed here? And I want to know what the tires are

I'm not fond of the spoiler at all. The accenting colors are a bit too in my face to be honest. I prefer a more subtle accent and a bit more carbon fiber.

Honestly I'm not crazy about any of it...the spoiler is a definite NO!

As far as more HP? Maybe for on the track but 350 is plenty for the road....and whats it doing to the longevity of the engine?

Modify the engine with a tune and there goes your warranty out the door...I track my "S" regularly and 350 hp is a very nice balance for this car. It is fast because it corners so well and can carry a fair amount off speed through the turns.

I took a closer look on their website & it's not for me either. I can't see anything that I'd really regard as a being a stylistic improvement over the standard car & that spoiler in particular is absolutely horrible. The exhaust tips (shown on a Cayman) would be quite nice if they weren't plastered in Techart branding but being as they unfortunately are, you can keep them as well.
