So, as it turns out the diagnosed problem with my 2017 Cayman S is faulty Oxygen Sensor (bank #1, sensor #1). This seems consistent with another instance of this fault described by a 718 owner on Planet 9.
Dealer had to order the part, so I return to the dealer on Friday to complete the repair. I guess part of the process of determining the problem, there must have been a reset as the fault message was cleared. It returned by the time I arrived home.
Couple of data points:
- 6700 miles
- Manufacturer date 09/16 for my car
- other than the fault message in the display, there was no indication that there was a problem with the car
...and Loving it!
