I have just been on the factory tour in Stuttgart - fascinating if you can get there and highly recommended but no photography allowed predictably

they only makes sports cars there at the moment and all models of 718 and 911 roll around the track one after the other eg either side of a 991GT2RS would be a 718 in order to keep the line running smoothly so that "more simple" cars that need less time at a station surround more "complex" cars that need more time at each station and all on a "just in time" basis

Taycan production will also be on site in a new plant that is still under production - 20,000 cars in year one - 500 kms range and 15 mins charge will put 80% capacity on the battery pack - Tesla's days numbered when "proper" manufacturers start producing better electric vehicles than they do? price in line with Panamera prices apparently. Jaguar I-Pace just won European COTY after all.

once a body shell in colour starts on the assembly line it is completed in one 7 hour shift - 2 shifts per day - 250 sports cars per day

anyway to the point - I saw several GT4 Clubsport shells in white rolling down the same production line as all the other sports cars which kind of surprised me as we know they are not road legal cars as such - must have seen 6 of them at various stages on the 1.5 hour tour

the tour guide was very open about what they were but unsurprisingly had no comment about plans for road legal GT4's

Nothing new in Geneva: https://newsroom.porsche.com/en/2019...n-s-17107.html
Since the thread says rumors, here is my contribution:
I'm going out on a solid limb here and say no more 718 reveals this year. At all. First 718 T deliveries in the US late this year. GT4 and Spyder (big) maybe mid-late 2020. If at all before the facelift...??? They'll drag the current 718 out for a couple more years. Facelift 2022-23 with the GT4/Spyder as the last hurra??? 718/6 or whatever the rumor says it's supposed to be called I still think is a daydream. It's all going electric with the next gen 718 is my opinion.

...Yea, I'm a bit disappointed, and although I've remained hopeful for a Geneva reveal, I'm not surprised. They'll continue to milk the product line as long as possible. I agree, and strongly suspect mid 2020, if I'm lucky, for delivery, unless they fire up production shortly after Goodwood...assuming that rumor is even true. Not too sure of that choice. I do know Porsche loves LA, as the State of California accounts for about 1/5th of all Porsches sold worldwide (picked up that tid bit from a Porsche exec at the LA Show 2017). So who knows. If that happens, it certainly would push further into 2020. I've been patient this long....

The longer the new 718 GT4 takes to show up, the happier I am I bought my 718 GTS and didnít wait. Iím already signed up for 4 track events over the next couple months. Lot more fun driving than sitting around reading rumors on the internet, frustrated and anxious.

Maybe by the time the GT4 shows up Iíll be so fatigued Iíll have lost interest.

Today had a talk with my dealer, the GT4 will be available in two versions (within 3 months from now) :
GT4 and GT4RS, one with the 3.8 and the RS with the 4.0 His opinion on the 718 getting a flat six: that would be stupid!
So probably all the speculations were based on there being two GT4 versions, that is my guess.

If in doubt...flat out

The name of this tread should be changed to "2019 GT4 ... Speculations updated!"

At least I think it would be interesting to know on which basis all these rumours are starting, I would guess quite a few is nothing more than speculations.

That's the first i've heard of an RS model and the third Porsche dealer source with slightly differing info (although this is close to what my Sales Manager said).
Going back through reviews of the 981 GT4, there was talk of a forthcoming RS model then, and nothing eventuated.
