Just over 9K miles on my 2017 with 18” wheels and it looks like it’s time for new rears (at least).

The Michelin’s and Continental’s that come highly recommended here aren’t available in 18s, so I was wondering about alternatives. I guess my parameters in order of importance would be: wet grip, dry grip, treadlife, cost, road noise. I don’t DE or autocross, just street driving.

When I put these parameters into Tire Rack I get either the Potenza S-04 Pole Position or the Dunlop SP Sport Maxx GT. The Dunlop’s are more than twice the price of the Potenzas. Any other suggestions?

Although on another car I drove... my experience is that the Pontenza is a harder tyre than the sports max... the sport max is a very quiet tyre also in comparisons of noise levels... as for grip I preferred the sports max in wet and dry conditions... car I owned was a 640d .. of course everyone has a different opinion, and driving style .

What tires came with the car? If you are satisfied with them, and there is decent tread on the fronts, couldn't you just replace the rears with the same? Usually rears wear twice as fast as fronts...

BTW Tirerack has 4 different N spec summer choices for base 718 Boxster with 18" wheels (including the Goodyears that came with mine, which I think are pretty decent for my purposes. )
