Hello,

Does anyone have any experience using 19" wheels on their 718?
I've located a set of 19" Spyder wheels and I think it would be a great combination..

All help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Since 718S's come standard with 19's, the issue, if any, won't be the diameter of the rim, but whether or not the width, offset, and bolt pattern are a match. Is the donor car a 718 Spyder. If so, my bet is the bolt pattern is the same and it comes down to width and offset, and again my bet is they will fit assuming the offset is close. I'm sure your local dealer can provide you with those numbers if you can't find them.

@phroenips Please tell me more about that ice driving! Is that a frozen lake? So cool!

BTW, I have the exact same winter setup.
It was actually quite cold, not just cool :p Haha

In Colorado, we have several car clubs that do ice driving events on Georgetown Lake. I'm involved in organizing and running the ones for the Audi Club and the Porsche Club. I can't speak for the other clubs, but we focus on teaching driver safety, and learning how to control the car in [extreme] low traction conditions around an autocross-style course. BTW, that's not mutually exclusive with having a lot of fun!

I will say, that while the Cayman was fun on the ice, it was only fun for the first 20-30 minutes of getting it sideways, etc. After that, it just got frustrating trying to get it around the course without spinning out while PSM was completely off (it was VERY tail happy compared to other cars I've driven). And once it starts to spin out, the mid-engine nature just makes it want to spin like a top! Again, I'm describing conditions with PSM completely off. With PSM on, it did it's job and kept the car safe and under control. That's why I never turn PSM off while on the street!

This one is a better action shot, but it doesn't show the wheels relevant to this thread :)
