Hi All,

Love this forum. Very imformative. Im new to site. 5'11 gearhead. Love cars. Took several weeks to settle the deal ( PPI inspections and work travel logistics) Finally got my girl. 2 days before dealership closed down due to pandemic. Think I would have passed out if not able to get my car. Searched far and wide. I rented a red 6-speed through Turo 6 weeks ago and was hooked. Wanted an S version manual. Many of you may know the challenge in getting a 6-speed. Dealerships advertise manual but really mean PDK. Many calls and searches later found one two counties over. 2017 Boxster S 6-speed. Scared I might not fit in car due to my height. She has such attitude. Man when the turbo kicks in I fall in love all over again.

Congrats and welcome! Did the same thing to find a manual Cayman S with PASM & PTV, but had to go to Chicago from Atlanta to get it! Hopefully you are able to put some miles on soon! Enjoy in good health.

I was very rusty and ended up taking performance car manual lesson to refresh an learn some new stuff. It is a whole diff ball game with this car. Feel like I am at an amusement park on an epic rollercoaster. Man the way she corners and hugs the sides is unreal without breaking into it.

Thanks so much. I'm tempted to sneak her out at night and cruise the freeways. CA/LA county is "shelter-in-place" now due to pandemic. I could really open her up on the road without traffic. Very temped but trying to be good and stay inside.

Luckily didn't have to go as far as you did, but would have if needed. Was on a mission. At the time I just barely started to expand my search out of state. Then "BAM!" There she is in my search 60miles away. Close enough but still not convenient.

That is some great luck! My trip ended up being a great way to get to know the car and I spent most of the trip on b-roads, which was just awesome.

Agree. We have back road in Calabasas that I love. Stunt Road. I may take her out. Im like a kid not being able to play with their new toys. TORTURE. 1st world problems.... I know.

Anyway congrats! I have a guard red 6MT too. But mine is Cayman and I am also 5'11" too and I found the Cayman give me the most head room on all my other cars that include the SUV.

Hahaha. Not my head fitting but my legs. My inseam is 38" so my legs are extra long. I was concerned about being cramped and using the clutch. Not an issue. I fit perfectly. Caymans are nice as well.

Probably knows he won't be riding in this car unless emergencies. He sheds enough to make several sweaters.

Haha! Years ago, living in Virginia, my wife and I took in a tour of Monticello, Thomas Jefferson's house, just across Afton Mt. from us. They had period-dressed people doing plantation things, etc., and there was a woman spinning yarn. I asked her what customized spinning she did for people (knitters, of course), and she said spinning favorite pet's hair into yarn was fairly high on the list.
