I have said before my '17CS is my daily driver and has been a wonderful car after reaching 20,000 miles. I finally purchased some Michelin PS4S tires and that has made the car a much better driver on less than perfect road surfaces.
When I first purchased the car, I spent a lot of time in sport mode and auto shifting. At 66yo and having been an owner of many cars with manual transmissions, it took me awhile to find my middle with PDK. I have found that I prefer to drive 90% of the time in non-sport manual. I have grown tired of the sound enhancer in sport and am thinking of disconnecting the sound soundaktor. When I am driving up long grades, I like how the car lowers the oil temps in sport, but I hate the sound. Anyway, after owning 3 911s, 2 912s, and a few 944s, my 718 is by far, the best Porsche I have ever owned. The others aren't even close in any measurement. Of course I am preaching to the choir.

Congrats on the 20k mark.

I agree, the exhaust sound can become a bit tiresome on daily drives. Sometimes I’d rather just listen to the stereo in a quieter environment. I’m also thinking of disconnecting the soundaktor.

The only time I use normal mode is on a longer highway stretch. For spirited driving I am in manual mode and for everyday I default to sport.

You managed to get 20K miles out of the original tires? That is pretty good given when I reached about 7.5K my rear tires were looking worn.

@dpcompt, that's a great update. Congrats on reaching this milestone and continuing to gel with your car!

+1 I have just under 8K miles on my OEM tires and they are at 3/32 (in need of replacement). My dealer said they were surprised that I'm getting even ware on fronts and rears and most folks have to replace rears first. Personally, I love carrying speed into corners. :) When I drive on the roads, I like going at what's been defined as "the pace." That is, I tend to barely be over the speed limit on the straight bits (5-10 over), do not use brakes into corner (little engine braking, but not aggressive), and carry speed through the corner with a little maintenance throttle trying to get some rotation with a fun exit.

My front tires were barely worn, but my rears were down to the bars. I probably could have got 50k out of the fronts. Slower into the turn, faster exit. Maybe a little trail braking.

The Yokohama tires provided great tractions and I squeezed every bit of grip out of those babies.......the 718 is a race car and I am all in. The feel/sound of the Porsches are truly unique.;)
