718 base Cayman since 2017. New to this forum. The F6 fans and car porn TV guys say it’s awful. Well they are right! I am sick of the appreciative looks when I fire it up or growl around town making fast car noises. I’m making a spectacle of myself. Taking off from the lights or a roundabout, I seem to pass everything before I’ve even realised and without putting my foot to the floor. It’s embarrassing, I ought to have bought an F6 so that I could scream past everyone a bit further down the road looking awesome, knowledgeable and connoisseur-esque in a proper car whilst losing my license for speeding.
Sometimes I fantasise about having a F6 by screaming like Freddie Mercury at high revs, but this distracts me from the cornering and that feeling like you’re skiing down a steep Alp on a set of sharpened skis. Driving this car feels like skiing fast. It’s awesome.
I was worried before I got the 718 after watching some online reviews. The guys from car porn programmes said their experience of the 718 4 cylinder lacked personality. I was delighted to find my particular car didn’t come with this issue as the presenters weren’t in the cabin. They must have been busy testing a Bugatti centrefold or something else tangible to the real lives of 0.0001% of the population.
So it’s been tough. First world problems. Although I probably don’t qualify for those having bought the cheap, nasty, fake Porsche made by Porsche.
It’s too sexy, too fast and too loud whilst sounding good.
Nightmare. Glad I could come here and share my problems guys.
Thankfully the GTS 4.0 is now here to solve all my problems but prohibit my family having any holidays or doing any home improvements for years to come.
Or maybe I’ll save 20k take the family around the world and buy another wee base turbo! I’ll test the 4.0 at the end of contract time but it’ll have to blow my socks off to be worth all the extra money. Porsche made a tuned up turbo 4 and put it in the middle of a cracking chassis with a sexy body. Nightmare. Bloody nightmare. Best thing I’ve ever bought.

This may be the best forum post ever. Congratulations and well done!!?
Sometimes you want to say something congratulatory, but someone has already said it better, and so I quote above.

Great post. I bought my CGTS late last year only to find out about the 4.0l GTS this month. After doing a bit of internet research I realised who cares. I love my car and enjoy it. It’s a fantastic car and I have stopped worrying about the effect of the 4.0L announcement. If a F6 is your thing great, for those of us with the T4 I’m sure we can survive for now

Thank you! The 2.5 GTS is so fast and so sharp. Drove one at Silverstone. Think it’d be too much for me, I’m not a regular track guy but it was so so good on the track.
I’ve always loved turbos for the low down shove, especially for more urban driving. The 718 turbos are so aggressively quick. Brilliant speed and performance in such a small, well balanced car. Love it.
