Hello. I have had my Box for a few months now, and am thinking of replacing the base sound system speakers. Nothing elaborate, just want to improve the sound a little. I have searched the forums and have seen some great systems, but I am really looking for something much more basic. Anybody got any good ideas or recommendations? Appreciate your help.

@GregW gives good advice: Look for an installer with experience with Porsches.

Most of the speakers in the 718 are exactly the same sizes and impedances as the ones used in the previous-generation 981. The exception to this doesn't apply to the base Sound Package Plus audio: the subwoofer used in the Bose and Burmester upgrades.

Stock sizes and locations:
Tweeters (on the dash behind the corner A/C vents): 1-inch
Front-door midranges: 3.5-inch (hole can accommodate aftermarket 4-inch drivers)
Front-door woofers: 7-inch (hole can accommodate aftermarket 8-inch drivers)
Rear coaxials: 3.5-inch (hole can accommodate aftermarket 4-inch drivers)

Note on the rears:
In the Boxster, the rear drivers are located directly behind the seat backs and fire toward the seat back (horizontally).
In the Cayman, the rear drivers are located beside the rear quarter window just in front of the storage cubbies and fire toward the roof (vertically).

Hope this helps.
