Hi everyone, can anyone who has a 2018 UK spec Cayman/Boxster tell me whether it still has 1. the Jukebox/ hard drive facility? 2. the 3.5 jack auxillary socket in the glove compartment with the usb socket. And 3. Is the 12v socket still down in the passenger foot well?

Cheers, Mark

I know this is not exactly what you are asking, but my 2018 USA-spec Cayman has all three of those things.

Along with the 12v socket in the foot well, mine also has one under the console lid between the seats.

Thanks for the info. I wonder whether the UK spec has lost those connections. Dealer had a look in a new UK GTS but couldn't see the passenger 12v socket or the glove box auxillary jack....
My UK 2018 718s has a USB connection in the glove box, (I don't think this can be used for charging devices only for transfer of files to the PCM eg. Jukebox and Nav via a Flash-drive/portable hard-drive) and a 12v Socket in the passenger foot-well but there doesnt seem to be a 3.5mm aux jack in the glove box).

IIRC, almost no model of 718 anywhere (U.S., EU, Asia, etc.) has even had an analog aux-in (i.e., a 3.5mm jack) as part of its package. The only exception: Aussie-spec 2017 models. It seems that they have been deprecated with the advent of PCM4.

Analog aux inputs in mobile audio are rapidly going the way of the dodo, gentlemen. Particularly in cars with high-resolution digital file playback capability such as ours, there's simply no need for one in the eyes of the manufacturer.

My Sept 2017 registered UK Spec Cayman has

USB port only in the glovebox, No Jack-plug (My 981 Boxster had both)
No 12v in the foot well.
USB for charging in the centre console between the seats
I have the smokers pack (but I don't smoke) so I have a 12v between the seats.
I also have the Jukebox

Hope that helps

I would agree with you. That's why I was so surprised to see a universal audio (AUX) port in the glove box of my 2018 Cayman (collected it at PEC-Atlanta in December 2018). I took the attached photo a few minutes ago. The online manual for the 718 does mention this port.

My car is a base, "stripper" with only one option (PDK) so this isn't a part of any package (at least not one I paid for).

I doubt I'll ever use it.

Hi. Based in Ireland but our cars come via Porsche UK. Jan 2018 CS. No audio jacks but usb in glovebox and under armrest. Has jukebox. Didn’t order the smokers package but I have a 12v socket in the passenger footwell. Best of luck with the new arrival.

Huh. I have a 2018 as well and don't have the analog aux-in jack. I did order Porsche Connect, however ...

I think, at least for 2017-2018 U.S. models, that you only get the analog aux-in that @aeronca65tl shows if:
- You opt for Sound Package Plus (i.e., no audio upgrades)
- You do not order any of the Porsche Connect packages (i.e., no smartphone prep/integration)

Since Porsche Connect is standard on U.S. models for 2019, I doubt that an analog aux-in is even possible in any package.

Thanks Malcolm that helps. Looks like I'll have to buy a Bluetooth to 3.5 jack adapter to run my old Walkman.
Didn't think to spec the smokers pack on my order as I thought I'd have the footwell 12v supply. :(

I don't fancy spending an extra £300 post purchase on a option that would have cost £30.

Another mistake on my configurator haste to get my order in before the deadline :crying:
