When I ordered the car in 2021, the contract was signed with prices for every options listed. I got the allocation in 2022 right before price increase, meaning the price was fixed.
Even though allocation was shifted to MY2023 after multiple delays, price remained the same. Got the car for the original price.
I had exactly the same experience. I don't believe Porsche would raise the price on a car that has already been ordered.

You’re given your model year when you get the allocation. You will pay the pricing based on the allocation model year. If for some reason it gets bumped to the next you’ll be price protected at the original allocation price.

Source: I was bumped from a 2022 to 2023 and I paid 2022 prices. The window sticker still reflects the higher price but the dealer will deduct the difference.
This was my experience exactly.

Back in November, I posted this:

Since my doom and gloom scenario seems a little closer to being reality, I might as well share it. I suspect, and I think you do too, is that there will not be any more four cylinder 718s until after OsnabrĂĽck comes online this summer, the cars will be 2024 models, will have a $4000 - $5000 price increase, and the earliest anyone will get one will be the fourth quarter.
I was wrong about four cylinder cars, there were some allocated and built, but not many, and it may be that my pricing guess was optimistic.

Hah, nailed it!

I've read somewhere that it is expected to be 5% to 8% across the entire model range. But as always with Porsche, we are all always just guessing!
I guess my source was correct in this instance!

I'm kind of relieved. If the increase would have been a few thousand more, my inner cheapskate would have said "too much", and I'd be asking for my deposit back. As it is, instead of fretting about whether the price would go up too much and fretting about not getting an allocation, I can just go back to fretting about the allocation.

I wonder how discontinuation of GT4 will affect 4.0 GTS resale values
My guess is discontinuation of the GT4 & Spyder can only help....i.e. no downward pressure on price. Of course if Porsche floods the market with 718 4.0's (which I doubt) then all bets are off.

It depends on how many more GTS 4.0's are made. In the UK there are more GT4's on the road than GTS 4.0's, they are probably looking to change the balance.

Just looked at the GTS in the UK compared to what I paid for mine last year. Base price has gone up ÂŁ7k but you do get more standard equipment however price I paid compared to the same car now is ÂŁ6k more.
You must have been lucky and price locked on the early priced 22 MY car, they bumped the price part way through that model year. For the Boxster GTS 4.0, the 21 MY was ÂŁ66,340 (I placed my deposit at this price in March 21), 22 MY ÂŁ67,250 which then got bumped to ÂŁ70,000 (This was the price when I received my allocation in May 22 and what I actually paid in Nov 22, although mine is a 23 MY car), 23 MY ÂŁ70,700 and now 24 MY ÂŁ75,300 so the price rises have been below inflation generally, but this one is a bit of a catch up!

I ordered my CGTS 4.0 June 2021, allocation November 2021 and delivery March 2022. I got 3% discount and price protection from the November 2021 price increase. The cost to order today in the same spec is ~ ÂŁ10k extra.

Slightly off topic, but it's not just Porsche putting the prices up again. Lotus have hiked the price on the Emira by a bigger margin and p1$$ed off a lot of customers who have been waiting a long time but will have to stump up if they don't get a car before June.

My experience - and I believe the policy Porsche USA - is that if your car is ordered as a current model year, but gets delayed and ends up the following model year, you pay the higher price, assuming you don't cancel the order. In the case of my 2021 that became a 2022, I was happy to pay an extra $1,800+/- (less than 2%) for the newer model year. Probably wouldn't be very happy paying 5% to 10% more.
Quite a few of us ordered in the 2022 model years and are hoping to get 2024 model year allocations. The 2022 price for a base Cayman was $60,500 plus $1,350 shipping, the 2024 price is $68,300 plus $1,650 shipping, a 13.8% increase. It appears that option prices have not changed so that reduces the percentage change, how much depends on what you added.

My sympathies to those without a car....

Yeah, the base cars took the biggest hit percentage wise, since the price increase from 2022 to 2024, including shipping, appears to be $8,100 across all variants. My 2022 CGTS had a base price of $87,400 plus $1,350 vs. $95,200 plus $1,650 for 2024. But that's "only" a 9.1% increase in 2 years and, as you said, more like 7% if you add $20k worth of options that didn't go up in price.

My sincere condolences to those that really wanted to order a car in 2022 but have been delayed and are getting hit with both a price increase and limited option selections. It was a different world for both customers and Porsche a decade ago when in late 2012 I could have bought a brand new 2011 911 GTS coupe with an MSRP of $118,000 for $85,000.....and would probably be able to sell it for more than that amount today with 50k miles on it.

Good luck in getting your 2024. I'd still say getting a great car at an OK price is far better than getting an OK car at a great price. And the 718 is one of the greatest.
