The P1 Inserts I have do have the option of 3/4 in of extra padding on the bottom cushion and 1/2 in padding on the back cushions. The height change is so minor and has no effect on the support the seat gives, but they do make a difference on longer drives. I did have some minor discomfort driving halfway across the country on the stock inserts and absolutely none with the p1 inserts.

Pretty sure all 3 companies give the buyer a lot of options for customization. Here's a rennlist thread comparing all 3 insert options.
Awesome, thanks for sharing! I'll read through there and will probably order a set later today.

The stock ones were fine at the start, but I think they broke in (like any cushions do) after ~500 miles and now have a stiffer/thinner feeling than they did at first. If you had asked me if I wanted to get inserts before ~500 miles, I'd have said no, but now I understand why so many people have these.

I (rather naively) used to think it was solely because everyone was obsessed with plaid :ROFLMAO: Then it clicked with me that they aren't just for the aesthetic.

May I list you in the Texas Roll Call? If so, please provide your general location, such as town, county, area, etc. Regardless, glad to have you aboard.
Sure! I'm in The Woodlands. Looks like a few others are around here, as well!

Do you know of any get togethers / meets in the (north) Houston area? I joined the Lone Star Region PCA and do have their calendar, but I know there must be other weekly/monthly things as well.

O.P, You lost me at PZeros are trash, worthless, but enjoy your lovely machine and congrats.
What pressures do you run yours at? I just lowered them by about 5psi and that really helped. Stock they were at 42 to 44psi hot pressure, which I think was causing a significant amount of the greasy feeling I have been getting from them.

Btw, it has been 100F+ ambient temp outside here every day since I got the car, so that can’t be helping either.

Wow, that's super high pressure. I typically run around 33-34psi hot on the street, 30psi cold. I'm pretty content with the factory Pzeros on my T, pulling 1.2G stock. My previous fun car, I had Potenza RE-71s. I'm a long time Bridgestone guy and I'm going to 19" wheels and RE-71s after I wear out the factory 20" tires.

Also, love my LWBS. I've sat in them for 6 hours over the course of a track day and I'm perfectly comfy in them. Been on a 4-hour straight drive in them and no comfort issues.

I run 33 PSI Cold on mine as Porsche says on the door. 44 PSI would affect performance. Mine run 36 PSI hot, 33 cold. As others have mentioned, you need to set at cold temperature in the morning.

There is even a comfort setting that I believe is 31 PSI, which if you are running 100 degrees, would probably set that cold until cooler climate.

If you ran Michelins at 42/44, they would also lose traction

That's insanely high. 40+ psi hot will definitely make them feel like they have no grip

Also, FYI you will run into a discrepancy with some cars showing 33 PSI and some 34 PSI over the years on their tire pressure decals.
We have found the likely cause to be a rounding issue as the 230kPa has been consistent but some tire stickers rounded it down to 33 psi, and some rounded up to 34 psi. Since I live in a hot climate I also rounded down to 33 PSI. that is how I got there because I also saw that on hot days the tire pressures would increase significantly.

For what it's worth, when my Pirellis go out, I will replace them with Michelins because I am a Michelin guy but my Pirellis have been excellent overall in my climate and I have no complaints. If I show up at Tire Shop and they tell me that Michelins are back ordered for 2 months as happened during Covid or they want double the money of the PZeros, then I would not hesitate to put the PZeros back on again. This is also confirmed empirically by TUV and Porsche that actually test these tires to meet strict TUV and Porsche braking and handling requirements so there is no empirical validity to say that they are magnitudes worse than than the Michelin, unless TUV and Porsche are lying.

I hope the pressures help you. It did help a previous member who had a similar complaint until he realized he was running pressures in the 40s as well.

Can definitely recommend upgrading the OAPs to get rid of the GPF. I went with resonated OAPs planning to get a new backbox later on but I'm totally happy with just the new OAP. Really opens up the sound with the valves open.

You can get custom inserts for the LWBS from P1Designs, ClassicFX, or Justin Placek.

Tires seem down to preference. I've seen some posters happy with the Pirelli's, I'm happy with the Michelin PS4S. I personally wouldn't get Cup2's as I do drive my car in conditions that are too wet or cold for them and that's in Texas.
Too Turbo, by any chance did you do a before and after sound recording of the OAP install. I’d be curious. BG

That pressure is insane and I suspect is responsible for 90% of your concerns. I have the Pirellis and run mine at 30psi ambient which equates to 33-34psi once warm. I feel like that’s the sweet spot for grip / handling / comfort unless you’re doing prolonged high speed running @140mph plus. Apart from very low temperature / damp performance I think the PZ4s are excellent.

Wow! Ok. So I may even have more to go down, then. I just got them to ~35-36psi hot on a relatively short and easy drive, which is already 7-9psi lower than they were.

Thanks for sharing - I'll keep playing around and lowering them.

Yeah for sure, makes sense. I wasn't sure what most people run their pressures at, so this is very helpful to hear.

So hey, you have to at least cut me a little bit of slack for not liking how the tires felt from day #1! Haha go set yours to 44psi hot and throw the car around a bit. You'd be singing a different tune about "out of the box" tire feel, too.

And yeah, completely understood on Michelins and anything else not liking excessive inflation either. I just didn't know what the correct pressure window was for this set, yet.

I just looked at my door and now see that even the door says 35psi cold pressure (and I'm not saying the door card is the best source of truth, of course - just making a comparison), so that's still 4-5psi less than they had them at on delivery day.

I think I'm going to go down another bit and target 35psi hot, at most, after reading what all of you have to say. Thank you very much

Absolutely...tons of slack! As I said, congrats on the lovely ride and welcome. 🙏

Makes perfect sense. Thank you for sharing your pressures - that helps.

I'm going to adjust mine to be ~33-34psi hot, definitely not more than 35psi.

The first step I just took to lower them did make a noticeable difference, so further down they go!

Thank you, I really appreciate it :)

Every time I get in the car I am immediately reminded of how special it is. One cool and unexpected thing is seeing how many kids and random people stop what they're doing to look at it. I keep joking with my friend that it gives us hope in humanity and the future when the next generation still (apparently) appreciates cars like these.

You've been added.

Wish I could help with Porsche related activities in your area, but I've been in the Texas Hill Country for the last 3 decades and no longer connected with your area. Regardless, I'll bet there are folks in your PCA region who can provide intel specific to the Conroe, Woodlands, Spring, and the North Houston area. You also may want to consider attending some Cars & Coffee events, as Porsche will be well represented.

Incidentally, the Lone Star Region co-sponsors HPDEs at Circuit of the Americas. The next HPDE is scheduled for the weekend of November 22-24 and registration opens October 9. Please note garages usually sell out quickly, usually within the first day or two. Regardless, I hope to see you there.

Soul does have back to back recordings plus a lot more on their website. I did record on my gopro but the audio quality is kinda trash since I dont have a good recording mic. Either way, hearing it in person is much different than by video especially when it comes to overall sound level. It seems like OAPs plus a valve controller is a very popular option. Backbox options seem to be more a hit or miss when it comes to being boomy and unnecessarily loud when just cruising around. Valve controller is the only thing I'm missing and probably the last mod I'll do to my car some time this year.

Soul has a really long 718 exhaust development thread on rennlist. Even if you are not interested in Soul products, I'd recommend checking out that thread for info.
