Hey Guys
Just curious who has got a Clear 3M Film wrap done at your local dealer upon picking up your Vehicle..
Im picking up my Cayman S next weekend and was considering doing the 3M.
If anyone has done it with a White Color my concern was the color contrast between wrap and non wrap area and if its that much noticeable in Shade
Im getting the Full front Hood,Full Bumper and fenders.
Welcome any input
Thanks !!

I had a full front clear wrap done by the dealer on my Carrera White 2012 Boxster. It was not very noticeable. In fact, several people said, "You should get a front clear wrap on this car". I had to point out that it already had a clear front clear wrap.

My Boxster came wrapped (entire front, bumpers and a couple of other areas). Besides the crease of where it’s protected and not, can’t really tell.

I had SunTek installed on full front hood, finders. headlights, mirror caps, and a-pillars on my White 2017 911 Carrera. Had that installed in 2016, when I purchased the car new. It still looks great. I just recently had Nano-Fusion installed on my 2018 Guards Red 718 Cayman.

I have clearbra on my front facing surfaces (1/2 hood, mirrors, bumper sides) and mine is a DD and so far so good.

Installed at dealer.

I just has Xpel done last week on bumper, front hood , front side fenders and mirrors - still a few bubbles but barely noticeable. I'm OK with a couple of bubbles in areas only i would be pedantic enough to notice, over paint chips.

Xpel, also did Ceramic Pro coating. I didnt go through the dealer. I have it on my 2018 GMC Sierra and its terrific. Is it worth the money? If you sat down and quantified it probably not. The car will depreciate in value way more than this product cost and I probably wont put 10k miles on it while I own it but it will annoy me to **** if I have rock chips.

Whole front end. (Bumper/complete hood), front and rear fenders, mirrors, inside door handles. Turned out really nice.

Ceramic coating on everything exterior, wheels (inside and out) as well as all of the suspension components inside fender front and back.

Wow - looks great!

I'd love to see the same pictures, especially of the suspension, after 6 or 12 months.

hi all .. i'm considering to do STEK clear bra on my white 718. I'm concern if the panel behind the door where the air vent is located will turn yellowish over time as its pretty hot .. anyone with clear bar done for awhile have any issue with it?

I just got my first scrape on the front bumper cover from a curb while parking. I thought a clear bra would not have protected the bumper cover from the scrape. I thought at around the 5 year point I'll probably just have the bumper cover repainted. By then it will have enough rock chips and bugs melted into it. My friend has a body shop and he does bumper covers for $300 to $500 all day. The work I've seen him do is nearly perfect. It may be a cheaper way to go then the clear bra route. I'd just call it a maintenance item.

EJDD - Your installer can take those bubbles out. Should not have to live with them. Not at the prices they charge.
Do you have any information regarding how the PPF installer removes the bubbles after the initial installation?

I'm interested to know how labor intensive it would be to just have a couple small bubbles removed by my installer. It's my understanding that the cost of removing any bubbles will be covered by the PPF warranty.

Back in January (about 1 week after my PPF installation), I noticed that my Boxster's full body SunTek Ultra PPF wrap had a couple small bubbles. They were very small and barely noticeable, so I figured I would just wait to see if they naturally dissipated with the spring/summer temperatures.

Overall, I love the SunTek Ultra PPF and would recommend a full body wrap if you plan to keep your car for many years.

The 718 is a lifetime keeper for me for many reasons. I just have to behave and keep the car in 1 piece....

The only negative i've experienced so far with the PPF is the installation cost.

I plan to have PPF installed on any additional sports cars I acquire.
