I'm going through OEM brakes and rotors pretty quickly. A 3 day track event ate most of a new set.

I'm thinking about going with Girodisk rotors and saving a bit on that end, but I'm worried about any warranty issues with PNA. My 2018 is a CPO so I have a few years left. Has anyone had any experience with 3rd party rotors and dealing with non related warranty issues?

The track prep shop I go to told me about a well known Rennlist user who goes through a lot of high end Porsches having a warranty issue due to his alignment(???!!!???). I can't find the thread, but it seems like he said there's a collective breath hold with how the direction is going with Porsche and warranty issues. I need to bring my car in and I'm even nervous about my Soul exhaust tips.

Thanks

Thanks. I was concerned that they could connect dots not on the same page to deny a warranty claim on something unrelated.Do you know if a car is denied warranty work, if that's programmed in the ECU so that another dealer would see that it was denied?

I believe PCNA's electronic service records are accessible by any dealership, so it doesn't matter what dealership you take your vehicle to--they'll all see the same record. Thus, if one dealer denies your warranty request and notes that in your file, other dealers will be able to see that as well.

However, you probably don't need to worry about third-party brake discs voiding the warrantied items on your car. Those are wear-and-tear items that aren't covered by the warranty, and unless they can prove that the discs caused some other damage they aren't going to care. Say, for example, you installed the wrong sized discs and that somehow damaged the calipers. They could deny your warranty claim for new calipers because the wrong parts were installed, but they couldn't deny your claim for a new windshield wiper motor that quit working (totally unrelated).
