You are not alone. I very much enjoy, and sometimes openly smile, while driving my first Porsche. It might be because I'm in a car that I dreamed about having for a loooong time, the fact that it is my first go-fast sports car, or the self-realization that I made enough good decisions in life to be able to afford such a car. Maybe its the combination of all of those things that makes me smile :)

I got mine as a gift from my wife in March 2019 (718 Boxster). The selling dealership was not up to par. However, this forum was so helpful to me. I traveled out of the country for most of the summer. Back in the the states, I drove to Chicago for the 4th of July and Branson, Missouri this Labor day weekend. Whenever I start the car, I have to sit there for a minute to just enjoy the sound of the engine and be grateful of my blessings.

5 months of ownership here. Great car! Biggest PITA is keeping the wheels clean! lol
I have the same wheels on my 718 Boxster S and had them on my previous 981. This time around I had the ceramic coating applied to the wheels. Now less brake dust sticks to them and it's much easier to clean them. It was definitely worth the $500 to have it done.

2 months of ownership yesterday. Over 4000 miles of fun so far!

Has anyone watched ceramic coating being applied? It's easier to apply than paste wax. It's especially easy to do to a new car where the paint has yet to be effected by environmental impurities. As for paying $500 to have wheels done, well I can't say how anyone else should spend their money, but that does seem excessive. Anyone can purchase the same coatings online. The application should take just a few short hours. The most difficult part in the process of doing an entire car would be the paint correction prior to application on a car that has been on the road for a while and has not been maintained well. One can do a car on a weekend afternoon and spend the dollars saved on quite a few good dinners. ;)
