Help me chose the color for my new 718 Boxster.
I like shiny black cars; is the normal BLACK any good?
or shall I go for the JET BLACK METALLIC?

Jet Black has a blueish sheen to it. Flat black is pure black. I love the Jet Black when it's clean. It has a lovely lustre to it. The downside of any black is that it shows dirt immediately. Good luck choosing.

I have JBM, depending on angle of light it appears everything in the range from non-metallic liquid black to dense visible metal-flake. Also in some photos an individual flake will catch sunlight in such a way as to cause a 'flare' (bright white spot) on the image. I don't see the bluish tint so much, but I had Midnight Blue before.

I ordered yellow , My regular daily is black. I love it , but very hard to keep clean. If I had to choose it would be the jet black metallic. My juke is sapphire and has a bluish flake when clean and shiny. Either way you will love your new car.Enjoy

I had a 918 Boxster in normal gloss black and I now own a 718 Boxster S in jet black metallic.

If click on my profile, you will see a link to my 'Garage'; there you will see plenty photos of both cars.

Although both colors are great, the Jet black metallic is absolutely gorgeous and I highly recommend it! Plus, it tends to hide dust whilst the normal gloss black doesn't. The normal gloss black can start looking dusty within minutes of washing and drying it depending on weather conditions.

The trick to having a black car look great is to use microfiber towels and a spray bottle with preferably distilled water. Invest 10 mins wiping your car down and it will look amazing.

I remember reading that highly visible yellow cars have a lower rate of accidents than all other colours. IIRC the extra horsepower from red D) made them the most accident prone.

My Boxster is yellow, and I love the fact that so many people, when they see me in their mirrors, will pull over to the side to let me pass!

Gold-style wheels feel like a but much to me. More flash than I am into. My buddy had a 987 Cayman that was black with black painted wheels. That was pretty **** gorgeous. I'm looking at getting a white Boxster. Silver beats black for that setup, IMO.
