I know this is absolutely left field but I did look at my new GTS a wee bit differently when this was announced.

I've been a Morgan fan for years and an owner of a 4/4 80th Anniversary Edition which I commissioned in 2016. This 1 of 80 had a lofty price of £40,000 which gave me 110hp! But massive smiles for every mile.
Morgan introduced their new CX chassis a few months back with the Plus Six which starts at £78,000 and this Plus Four comes in at £62,000. Total polar opposites with the 718 but then you have to admit that when compared, the 718 in GTS trim looks like a bargain!
While the my Morgan is slow, it does feel like you are going 100 mph when in fact it's indicating a lofty 60. Both handle the B roads without breaking a sweat, enjoyable top down and thus far with the GTS, a joy to own.
I will say however, that the Morgan does edge it out in regards to curb appeal and a sense of being that much more special - is it poor form to say that of one's car?
Oddly enough, I never feel any fear of parking the Morgan anywhere at all yet find myself feeling nervous of doing that with the 718.
I was looking forward to this launch but even with it's charm, much more power and a fantastic chassis, the price is now getting ridiculously high. My spec would come close to 78k and that is proper Spyder territory. So I guess I'll be holding on to Oliver the MOG for a wee bit longer - or sell both and get that Spyder
This post is clearly all tongue in cheek and what I hope to be a break from the norm ?
