I looked on the Porsche website, and this forum, and can't find a list of Standard Equipment for the "Base" and "S" versions of the 718 Cayman. They give a few features on the Porsche site, but not the complete list. Is there an Ordering Guide available that would show this? I'd like to do a full comparison.

Thanks!

On the configurator there is a standard features list for each model - you'll find it in the top left hand corner, just click and read/download for each model. From memory the differences are:

Engine - B gets a 2.0L turbocharged, S gets a 2.5L VTG turbocharger. This of course means that power output and torque differs for each model
Brakes - Z gets bigger brakes with Red calipers
Wheels - B gets 18" rims as standard, the S gets 19" wheels
Exhaust - B gets a large oval exhaust tip, S gets two circular ones
Interior - the S gets extra leather on the centre cubby hole and on the door handles plus 'sportier' looking pedals.

There may be one or two things i've missed but I think that's about it. Also remember that standard equipment will vary from country to country - for eg. in some countries climate control is optional while it's standard in others so pays to make sure you are looking at country specific information, which is why country specific spec sheets from the configurator are your best starting point.

S also gets the larger fuel tank and 'aluminum look' pedals.

Thanks, Chris. Great information. That's exactly what I was looking for.

Here in the U.S. are the differences I found:

As you mentioned, the engine goes from 2.0L 300 hp to 2.5L 350 hp engine.

Brakes same size, but goes from black to red calipers.

S increases wheel sizes from 18" to 19" front and rear. Rear wheel width goes from 9.5" to 10". Tire width is the same for both.

S has "Sport Style pedals and footrest".

S has "twin rounded" tailpipes from "central oval" tailpipes.

Just going by my own visual comparisons but I'm like 99% sure: in one of those apparent Porsche official data anomalies (how is that even possible?), the front calipers on the S appear clearly larger than the black base fronts pictured.

Also one of the early reviews I read distinctly differentiated the source of 718 front brakes as being 911 (for S) and 981 (for base).

Yes, the callipers on the S are larger and from the previous base 911 and the B inherits the brakes from the 981S.
Weird though, the official Porsche USA site STILL shows brakes as same apart from rotor thickness. Other official media as well -- no wonder many forum members under the false impression that only difference is in color.... Go figure. Just goes to show, 'official' Porsche data *can* be wrong (not just performance times).

Yeah, I trawled through loads of Porsche related reading to find this info as I too was keen to find out exactly what differences there were between base and S models. I'll see if I can find the source again.

718S front calipers are current 911 base calipers. They are massive and look great!
