Here is a video I posted in the how to section documenting access to the top of the engine bay, what a pain! Fortunately servicing is not completed through this panel, it's applicable to both the 981 and 718 and worth a watch only if to help you to decide never to do this! Please consider subscribing to help us grow if you haven't already.

thanks, I needed this info, though I've watched in 3 times and still not 100% sure on everything, as am attempting installing a BMC filter in the next week or so.... hold tight I may have questions!!... (missing the ease of my 986 and 987 for this stuff oh and oil filter change!!)

Please ask on the channel comments and I can get back to you quickly, and good for others to see.
For the BMC filter install on the 981 you do that by going in through the rear luggage compartment, remove the carpet, remove a module and then you can access that way, much easier than this!

I would guess the 718 is the same, do you have dual intakes on the 2.5?

Air filter is under rear deck, the one you removed in your video, intake on left (passenger side in oz)
