I know they would be ridiculous for the street, but I love the center-lock wheels.

I'm curious. I've heard they are horrible to work with. Is there a reason you love them other than aesthetics?
TIA
Aesthetics only. I have two other cars with center-lock (wire) wheels. I love the look.

…….How often do they old wheels need trying?
I assume you mean truing?

I have a home-made fixture and I check my MGB wire wheels (14") every couple of years. I only drive it about 500 miles a year. Once they have some miles on them, they rarely seem to change.
I checked my MG Midget wires (13") about five years ago but I rarely drive it so it not really as much of an issue.

My friends with the taller, skinny wire wheels (like on MG-TCs) must watch them more carefully especially if they are racing them.
What I'd love for my MGB is the steel Dunlop knock-off wheels (see photo). I think they are the Bee's Knees.

Again, this is just all for looks.
Regular cast aluminum wheels (like the Panasports I have on my MG race car) are much stronger and better.

I have a totally irrational lust for a GT4 RS. It's like I'm a kid again and want to hang posters of it on my bedroom walls. It won't be practical, it will be barely tolerable on all but the most perfect of roads, it will be super expensive with ADM and perceived exclusivity, and I don't have room in my garage or my budget for the car.

That said, I STILL want one.
