Has anyone figured out a solution for the front plate that does not require drilling into the bumper cover or using the tow hook mount?

Even with the tow hook mounts, it seems like the parking sensor on the GTS is much closer to the tow hook area than on the Base/S, so tow hook solutions advertised to work with 718 and parking sensors, such as the Platypus, will probably not work on GTS.

Not interested in the Sto and Sho as I don't want to further compromise my ground clearance.

I'm currently driving without a front plate in NY but don't feel like testing my luck as a long term solution...

Thread moved to the Exterior subforum. This is not an issue limited to the GTS.

Also, OP: There are a few other threads in the Exterior subforum that explore your question/issue.

Finally: Welcome to the forum!

Thanks for the welcome!

My apologies for posting in the wrong forum. I figured perhaps some GTS owner may have figured out a custom solution to this, which would not apply to 718 base/s due to the different front bumper cover and existence of radiator that should not be blocked.

Definitely good points regarding the third front radiator, OP -- and a couple of solutions for the base/S do take advantage of the 'blank' in the center front valance. Most solutions for similar cars utilize the tow hook mount, though, which is semi-universal. I know a couple of such mounts are available for the 718, but the issue with them seems to be the parking sensors.

Anyone else have any insight?

I'm using a Rho-Plate V2 on my 718 Cayman S. The car has both parking sensors and adaptive cruise. The plate holder is VERY adjustable and I have had NO issues. A bit pricey at $145, but what isn't pricey for these cars.

rennline. it's a tow hook but you can position it so it does not interfere with the radiator nor the sensors.

Thanks for everyone's feedback. I am now looking into a mount that will attach to the black plastic valance on the center of the bumper cover. Don't think I could live with an off center tow hook solution.

I have no front plate on my VW GTI - for the past decade, and received only 1 citation... when I was driving 55 in a 70 at 6am halfway between large Texas cities (so suspicious to the LEO) – optimal fuel efficiency speed. I'll just take the risk and rare citation. Not worth marring the front, IMO.
