When you order the SP, you get a lid & a cigar lighter.
If you do not order the SP, you get a tiny, open hole... too small for a phone.
But do you lose the 12V outlet? I think you do! (Unlike in the Macan)
So by ordering the SP you end up with an extra 12V outlet?

You are correct. This is all primarily why so many opt for it who aren't smokers.

My base PDK car with no other options has two 12V outlets.

Do the cars with the smoking package come with three?

Yes. AND I like the look of the center console with the Smoking Pkg because it has a door over it, which cleans up the look vs the gaping, useless hole.

I just dropped my car off for shipping back to the States si can’t check for a while.. I have the smokers package and only used the cigarette lighter 12v. My manual says there is also one in the passenger footwell. ( which I didn’t check)

Where is the third one? Thx.

Reading this thread and stuck with the open mini-bin on a pre-configured car with black interior? Fold one of your leather driving gloves and stuff into the bin -- it fills the space nicely flush to sides and top, blends into the black leather-trimmed cabin like a factory-optioned Padded Leather Palm Rest...and actually does feel rather good to touch. Alas, the other glove has to line the bottom of center bin behind...

Thanks!

I will get the SP if I end up buying the Cayman. (Deciding between 718 & 991.2 now)

I opted for the empty hole in my Macan & use it all the time to keep stuff in it & with the Macan, you still get the 12V outlet, even w/o SP. So apparently, with the 718, not getting the SP costs you an extra 12V outlet, which certainly can come in handy!

I remember once taking a hiking day trip in my Macan & my passenger & I both needed to charge our phones. The open hole was being used to power my V1 radar detector. (I still have yet to get around to hard wiring it!) Luckily, the back seat had a 12V outlet.

Mine came with the smoking package. I wouldn't have ordered it but I glad I got it.

My Cayman base 718 with out smoking option only has one 12 volt plug in that I have found. It is on the council side of the passenger foot well. I use a splitter so I can power a GPS & V1. Please tell me where the 2nd is located.

Yes. My 2018 base has one in the footwell area and one more in the center console.

I have the non-smacking pack and tbh, too small for any bloody use regardless.
tbh - most opt for that pack for the additional socket for power
Exactly why I optioned the smokers package. The space is so small it’s relatively worthless. I’ll give Porsche credit for at least offering the package for free,
