This irritates me. Every time I start the car, the AC and fan kicks on and every time I have to manually turn it off. I want it to stay off all the time unless i need it. Anyone know how?

It doesn't look like you can turn it off in the options panel--

but maybe in the key memory package--

Waiting on my car......were you able to solve the problem with AC fan with the memory function?
Unfortunately I don't have the key memory package. I've gone through every setting I can find and nothing.

Seems to be a significant Porsche oversight.....odd.
Have you tried calling the dealership to see if they have anything to recommend?
I was looking at the iManual and you can try this and see if it works.....Vehicle....Settings....Air Conditioner.....Vent. panel. Apparently, you have the option of switching the upper ventilation panel on or off. You can also adjust the air flow.....Vehicle....Settings....Air Conditioner.....Climate style. It can be set to soft/normal/strong. Not sure if this helps since I don't my vehicle to test it out with yet.
That's only if you have the memory package, which I don't. I have no settings anywhere that lists "Air Conditioner". Can anyone else chime in to tell me when they turn the key on that climate control also comes on?

I don't have the memory package either but I am not experiencing the same problem that you are. After reading your post I tried to duplicate what is happening to you. When I start my Boxster it reverts to whatever I had as my last setting. So if I had the AC on when I turned the car off the AC is on when I start the car. The same is so when I have the AC off and turn it back on. I know this really doesn't help you but I would say that you probably have a stuck switch or perhaps even a software malfunction. I would take it to the dealer and have them take care of the problem. It certainly is not a normal occurrence.

Good luck!!!

To the OP, or anyone else, has a solution been found? I seem to be having the same problem. Sometimes, but not always, the AC turns on when I start the car regardless of the fact that I left it off when I turned off the car. I have the keyless ignition and set the door and key memory when the AC was off. It is certainly annoying now that the weather has cooled off.
When I first read the heading of your post I was going to mention the memory key feature, but that's obviously not the issue since you didn't option that. I will ask someone at work tomorrow who's been with the brand for a long time.
I just spoke to one of the service advisors at my local Porsche dealership. According to her, it is a "feature" of the system that the air conditioning always turns on with the car regardless of whether it was on or off the last time you exited the car. I have the enter and drive option in my car. She said that the best that I can do is to set the fan on low and the temperature on a comfortable level, and sync that to my key so that I don't get a blast of cold air on start-up. Honestly, that makes absolutely no sense.

As far as my car is concerned it is a "feature" I don't have.

The climate control always starts but I can set the parameters in the options menu. The air-con (cooling) comes on only if it was on at engine off.

Try setting the options so the fan comes on at minimum and then it's just a quick press to turn it all off.

I was also baffled at why there was no setting for this and was beginning to think Porsche wanted the AC to always come on for some reason. I eventually figured out to try the key memory and was able to turn AC off and then store to key and that seems to have done the trick. Strangely it took a couple of tries though so maybe it's flakey. I'll see if I can reliably replicate (though now I'm hesitant as it is working as I want and I'd rather AC always start off than always start on).
