A local dealer has a car that i'm interested in. Sticker price was NZ$231,810 ($222,000 with no options) when it was new. It was showroom stock that the dealer sold in November last year. They have now traded it back in as the owner's wife can't live with the manual transmission. Car has only done 1,150 km / 700 miles. Car will come with balance of the 3 year warranty (CPO isn't a thing in NZ)

They are now asking $205k for it but I figure it is worth less than that. Red Book suggests the car is now worth $190k if it was a private sale. Any suggestions on how I should approach the dealer or what you think it could worth? Vehicle in question is one of only 9 911 T's that came to NZ.

Unfortunately, the book price and supply/demand price may not be comparable. If the car is something that would be nice to have rather than a must have, I'd offer a low price. If you can't live without it, I'm afraid you're gonna have the pay the piper. Limited supply makes things a bit more difficult with any product, as I'm sure you know. Not sure if the availability of those will always be limited in NZ. SA may advise you on future national allocations which may help in assessing prospects for future lightly used Ts. Good luck whichever way you proceed!

In Australia when I was looking I'd say dealer demos with those sorts of miles were getting at least 15% discount off list price but that was for 718 GTS. I'd expect less discount on a 911.

If the 911 T is as rare as you say in NZld then I'd say the allocations/supply will be low and the dealer can perhaps name his price given a new one would be many months away if you can order at all given 992 will be taking over.

I think you are getting 11% off as is so maybe try for 15% and close the deal.

Though of course most of us here would suggest you consider a 718 GTS and save the extra coin. ;)
