Anyone decide they wanted black wheels but did not order that way. Instead had then painted or coated after delivery?

For a 2019 CS, to get Satin Black must move up from 19" tp 20" wheels

Extra $1,590 to get 20" Carrera S wheels + extra $1,090 for Black Satin paint.
So, total $2,680 extra if you want black wheels!

I was considering getting Std. 19" wheels for $0 extra & having them painted or coated satin black somewhere.

My main reason for wanting black wheels is to hide the brake dust!
I am wondering if they are gong to show stone chips more than silver wheels though.
I liked the look of black wheels that I saw in the Porsche showroom but don't really like photos of black wheels, LOL. Especially on dark colored cars. I cannot get Graphite Blue Metallic for MY2019 so, would probably get Agate Grey.

I've read the 19" wheels are less noisy & the ride is less harsh vs. 20" with the 718.

Has anyone done this & what did it cost to paint the wheels?

Flat or satin black wheels are really nice for hiding brake dust. We have a lot of wheels powder coated and exclusively use Home | NW Wheel Repair They do awesome work and stand behind everything they do.

I did. I had the 19" Cayman S wheels powder coated through the dealer before taking delivery, and I had the OEM wheels of the BMW I owned previously powder coated by a third party three days after taking delivery in 2015.

See this thread for pictures of my car.

See this thread for discussion about powder coating OEM wheels.

Cost should run anywhere between $500 and $800. Don't pay any more than that.

Thanks!
I really like the look of the black wheels on your Night Blue Metallic Cayman!
I will need to check to see how much the dealer would charge to powder coat the Std. 19" wheels b4 delivery... vs. a 3rd party. After a month or so, I would "wax" the wheels with Meguiar's Ultimate Liquid Wax. It's a sealant that I use on my cars & seems to protect well.

I paid $1k at the dealer and had it wrapped into financing. Read Post #10 in the second thread I linked to here. I considered the higher price a 'convenience charge' for a few reasons.

Good luck!

I bought my 2017 718BS as a CPO'd vehicle and did not like the original color spec'd for the 20" Carrera Sport rims (they were silver on silver) so I powder-coated them to be two-toned (jet black metallic on silver). The result is awesome. Wheel Repair Specialists in Deerfield Beach, FL did the work and they were fabulous to work with. Cost was around $800 to do this and that included them painting the Center Caps (with colored Porsche Crest) to transform them from silver to Jet Black Metallic. By the way, they can color match your exterior color when they powder coat your rims like they did mine.

Go to this thread to see photos of the transformation:
