Has anybody successfully removed the airbag warning stickers from the sun visors? Please share. I want to get rid of them but I also do not want to damage the visors in the process. Thanks!

I successfully removed the warning labels from my 2013 VW Golf R. Removed the visors. Soaked a towel with denatured alcohol and allow it to soak 15 - 20 minutes. The decal peeled off easily.

When i tried to remove the labels from the visors on my 2014 Subaru BRZ, it did not work out very well. I was not pleased with the results.

I'm scared to try it on my Cayman. I think I will live with it. :)

Guess we will need to wait for a volunteer ;)

Thinking of ordering something like this from ebay:

Most of the generally published methods employ the use of isopropyl alcohol. But some of the newer warning stickers (like the ones I had on my Macan) have a foil backing, so the alcohol can't soak through the sticker face to dissolve the adhesive. In my case, the visors were alcantara, and alcohol applied to the edges was able to soak the fabric behind the sticker and release them.

So the question is. do the warning stickers on the 718 have a foil backing, or not?

An alternative method, which some have said works on foil backed stickers, is to use a hair dryer to soften the sticker's adhesive.

I just used the 91% Isopropyl method on mine (2018 gts). I didn't remove the visors, or wrapped with anything - just left the soaked paper towels on in a horizontal position for about 15 minutes and they came right off without even a trace of residue. Success. I tried to do the same on my MINI and the labels are much more resistant. The P-car was thankfully super easy.

Were they foil backed, or not? Thanks!
