Installed a Thinkware Q800 Pro this morning. I didn’t hardwire it, just plugged it into the 12V outlet in the passenger footwell and my alarm was set off 3x. I did notice that even after I’ve turned the car off and locked it, the dash cam continues to be powered on. That’s when the alarm was set off. I then unplugged the dash cam and the alarm was set off twice more. So I turned the ignition on for about 15 minutes and that seems to have fixed the problem. Could it be that the dash cam drained the battery a bit, triggering the car alarm? Shouldn’t the power supply to the 12V cut off after the car is off? Thanks!

The power to the outlet shuts off after about 20 minutes, could it be your dashcam is activating it with the voice feedback those thinkware cams give? You can disable the interior alarm by double pressing the close button on the keyfobb.

Hi K12123 - I've had similar issues with my Q800 Pro, although mine is hard-wired. My alarm will go off in the middle of the night - happened three times. I've stopped locking the car in my garage because of the issue. I turned off the recording when in the garage and the alarm would still trigger. I thought it might be that the Q800 was sensing low battery and turning itself off which triggered the alarm. It's a little strange.
