Hi
i Just ordered a new Boxster GTS and it will bee delivered in the beginning of 2018
I think that half ofthe fun is to tune the motors in the cars, and have been tuning BMW cars for some years, all from piggybacks to kompressors.
If someone of you have any experiance of tune the 718 , i would appreciate if you share your experiance

thanks

Welcome to the forum, I think you'll be one of the first with a 718 GTS. I'm sure you'll love it! :)

Quite a few people from Sweden choosing the 718.........must have impeccable taste in Sweden. Hope to visit some day! Let us know how the GTS performs.
Hej och Välkommen!

Lets hope there aint to much snow on the road when the car arrives.
Let us know when and how your gonna tune :)
MTM have a kit that bumps the S to 380bhp.

I'm confident we'll see tunes on the S pushing the car above 400hp soon.

Takes time for the tuners to come out with a safe, reliable tune that's good to go "off the shelf".
Im gonna wait for the warrenty to end before even consider to do anything.
It also depends on how much i will track the car.
I have been looking at EHRESMANN AUTOMOTIVE GMBH
, they claim 450 hp
But i have also heard that Cobb tuning is working on a flasch tune, that would be great, since it is easy to change maps
It would be perfect to only have the map on sport+ or something like that.

My German is lacking, but I think I can read a dyno chart and numbers without translation

So another tuner with baseline measure of 718 S rear-wheel horsepower of 379 equates to 400+ crank hp from the factory. They are probably using the same dyno type as Cobb or AWE (Dynojet and Mustang) so not a surprise perhaps, but still, at least within the world of tuner power ratings, the 718 S is a 400hp (approx.) car as delivered from Zuffenhausen. And that explains results like these (bear in mind, all those 911 factory hp ratings are very conservative): http://fastestlaps.com/comparisons/jhio65dd8d7k

eta: wait, no -- upon reflection, that 379 can't be a baseline figure (that would yield way over 400 flywheel hp), it must be the 'stage 1' level of tuning I'm guessing. Sorry, every tuner chart I've looked at shows baseline curve along with their improved delta, so that's what I figured I was looking at here. I'll leave the original post anyway, the link to Fastestlaps comparison of 718 S to 911s of 370-408hp still makes a valid point ...

One of these days I'll drive over to Cobb and ask them what the holdup is.

They're not far from me!
