The only weak point I have read about is the 3rd gear in the manual transmission.
Any engine / drivetrain failures due to tune?
Does anyone know of a documented engine or transmission failure due to a tune? If so, with which tune and what type of engine failure? And no, this is not a should I tune or not thread.
Just want to understand the threshold or "yield point", and hopefully this thread will live long enough to give us a better idea. For example, as a previous RS3 owner, it is well known that the 5 cylinder 2.5 L will bend a rod at anything above 530-550 ish ft lbs. A couple of tuners/customers have learned this the hard way and have just recently refined their tune to deliver torque smoothly and limit it below said torque value.
