How much is left stock or is it mostly a resto-mod? I always liked the 914 as a kid. Of course that was before the 924. Which I didn't care for until it went to the 944.

If it weren't going to be a total wrencher, I wouldn't mind having an original stock one. But I'm too old anymore for spending all that time tinkering.

Nice car!

Used to go to Hershey a lot when I lived in Pennsylvania and Baltimore. There's also a big Corvette show every year relatively close, in Carlisle. Interestingly, I worked at the Pocono Hershey Resort during college. Regarding your 914, it looks identical to the one my father had when I was a little boy. If it's from Pennsylvania originally, would be funny if it was Dad's!...So will I be there? Since relocating to Maine over 18 years ago, I don't get down to Hershey much anymore! Have a great time!...

I'm away or I would go. It should be a great time!

Hershey is a great place to visit: I used to run the Hershey Hillclimb all the time.....I might even make it this year.

I'll be stopping in Hershey during my road trip next month; I have a good friend who lives there who I haven't seen in nearly 20 years. Doesn't do any good for the swap meet (MAN I'd like to check that out!), but I'll have to check the local event calendar to see if anything's going on the weekend I'm through ...

you can find the build thread google > 914 World Olympic Blue Resurrection. It won't let me add a link.

Some pictures from the Hershey Porsche Swap meet & Show

Took the 914, Drove out to Hershey on Friday, 200+ miles and it rained all the way. Ran the PA turnpike out so easy route. but with the Easter traffic not really fun. Of course after the trip the car was a mess. using a motel wastebasket as a bucket and some motel shampoo I gave the car a quick bath in the parking lot and headed to the show. Turned out pretty good.

Didn't see any 718 cars in the Concours area. Mid engine class had 12 entries 6-914, 5- Boxster and a lone Cayman GTS. The 914s swept the class taking not only the top 3 spots but the announcer stated they got the 4th and 5th place votes also. this is not a Councours judged event, its a Peoples Choice. Where the others that entered the Concours show area get to vote on all the cars in the show. only way to get a ballot is to enter.

Funny thing, in previous years the 914 owners would complain about being grouped in with the newer Boxsters / Caymans models. So you have 40+ year old cars competing with sometimes NEW or newer cars. Well this this year when handing out the trophys the PCA judge/announcer said "looks like the 914 guys can quit complaining about wanting their own class"

I got to talk to Mike at the SOUL tent, looking into a Catted downpipe for the 718 Cayman. Seeing their parts in person made me confident that is the company I will go with when I decide to part with the cash. The quality looks top-notch and they are enthusiastic about meeting you and discussing their wares.

This is swap is worth the drive if you are in the East.

SOUL Tent

This was the E-class Mid-engine row, E-class had the most entries of all classes.

Couple nice looking GT-3

Some of the 914 competition.

this beige 914 took the 1st place in class E.

And one of my car

Now this picture was from last year 2018, He was here again this year and was the lone Cayman GTS. he had driven down from Michigan. I had parked next to this guy last year because I had been looking at the Sapphire Blue 718 Cayman at the dealer and had decided that was what I wanted.

this is what I got...…

Sort of a Prophetic picture don't ya think....
