Apple CarPlay using the Cplay2air device was really misbehaving today. Multiple problems. At various times or in combination, Carplay would not start (it seemed not to know a phone was connected), if I changed the music source from DVD to Carplay both would simultaneously play, and Audio was mono. Since this system proved mostly reliable over the past few week at first I thought maybe Mercury had to be in retrograde. Well, it turns out, I had forgotten to remove the single Apple Airpod pro I use when I got in the car. Removing the ear bud and putting it in its case immediately solved the mono issue. Parking the car and leaving it for about an hour seemed to fix all the problems. I do not know if the Cplay2air device was complicit with these issues but I suspect it was the phone itself that was confused.
