Hi everyone, I'm seriously considering an APR tune for my 718S. Two questions however: 1) what will be the inconvenient not having the sport chrono package? I know the ECU has been developed to work with the 3 driving modes normal, sport and sport +. Will this be an issue or will I miss a lot of the improvement? In other words: what's the difference you feel when you switch to sport + mode (with the APR tune of course)? Big change as compared to the sport mode? 2) my local APR dealer (in Luxembourg) ask 1600 euros to install the APR mod, which is about three times the price of a standard ECU upgrade. Anyone from Germany, France or Belgium who got a better price? The dealer said he cannot offer any discount since APR fixes the price for customers and is closely watching to dealers. APR, who I wrote to, answered that they cannot control the price set by the dealers... Ahah... I rather trust the dealer on that matter and actually understand APR's strategy. But yet... I think it is expensive. I have several other (and custom) tune around, e.g. shiftech, that are much less expensive... BUT I want the APR mod. Any feedback appreciated.
Cheers!

It is my understanding of the APR maps in conversing with them directly:
1. Base mode: lower torque boost
2. Sport: higher torque boost
3. Sport+: same torque boost as Sport

APR was willing to provide the Base mode tune for SPort and Sport +, so you should be able to specify which single tune you want: Base, Sport/Sport+ for your non-chrono 718.

There is one big difference between sport and sport+ and that is how it holds the boost when you let go of the throttle. (also you will always have pre boost in sport+)
And it seems it holds it even better with sport response engage (but i am not 100% sure)

It is a bit overkill even for spirited driving to have that boost on tap.
But on track it´s wonderful (!), brake and go down thru the gears, roll thru the corner, at that moment the boost hovers around 0,7bar (10psi)
So when you get on the gas again you will fly out of the corner :)

From the APR thread
If your in a high/full boost scenario and you let go of the throttle the boost goes down to 0,2 bar then it builds up again.
It does not matter if your staying in gear or shift down :)
