..not to put salt on your wound but what else went wrong at delivery? Sounds like an unpleasant experience.
The main issue was that they wouldn't release the car on Friday, 7/6. I had to wait until Monday 7/9. The problem with that is that I flew to LA and was supposed to drive back on Saturday or Sunday to Tucson with my cousin. He had to be back at work on Monday in Tucson, so he had to buy a plane ticket at the last minute because of the delayed delivery. Of course, I had to drive from LA to Tucson on my own because of the error as well.

The dealer tried to put all of the blame on Porsche Financial Services (PFS), which I agree that they do have most of the blame. PFS kept claiming that the lease was incorrect, which was especially frustrating since I told the dealer that the lease was not correct before I even flew out to LA. I ended up signing 3 different leases. The finance manager and the sales manager claimed that they cleared the initial lease with PFS before I arrived, but when they went to submit it, PFS rejected it. The dealer would not make an exception and release the car without funding either even though my credit is 833, and I'm a previous Porsche customer. The kicker was that the final lease that I signed was written exactly how I said it should have been written before I had even arrived in LA.

There were a lot more errors prior to the point of delivery where it became a comedy of errors. Here's a quick rundown:

-- The initial build was completely wrong. They were going to replace an existing build with my build just before lock, but they didn't do it. Luckily, I caught this by asking my SA for the build sheets or else I would have shown up to the wrong car. This mistake also delayed my car by a month.

-- They took off PEC delivery from the build. I ended up having to book PEC on my own, and the dealer reimbursed me. However, I didn't get the lunch for two, goodies, or the unveiling at the PEC for my car. The SA kept trying to say that booking a course on my own was the same, but he didn't know that I was aware of the extras.

-- They did PDI and washed the car when I told them not to.

Worst of all, the only concession that the dealer made was a loaner, which I had to ask for. They wouldn't pay for the cost of shipping the car to Austin, nor would they split it. I asked for the 40k maintenance to be thrown in, but they wouldn't do that either. Finally, I asked for a PEC gift certificate for another course and was denied as well. Overall, it was one of the worst consumer experiences of my life.

Stuff happens unfortunately. But it looks like it could be sanded out fairly easily. I also had a small paint blemish with dirt/dust trapped under the clear. Bugged me for 2 months every time I noticed it. Finally stopped by a body shop sanded/removed it in less then 10 min. Can't tell it was ever there. I'd have it done if possible.

...LA dealership?...either way, sounds like it boils down to the dealership mishandling the whole process...lack of attention, follow through and communication...start to finish. Inexcusable.

Yes, it was a LA dealership. I did, however, get the deal that I wanted: 8% off.
...say no more... LA...8% to reel you in...sorry, not a fan, especially dealerships that take advantage of buyers, leasers...whatever. Then zero customer service. Just a number to them. No relationship whatsoever. Not worth the dollars saved, unfortunately.

I’m sorry to hear that your delivery experience was poor. You should make sure you respond to the survey correctly. When my dealer was telling me about the delay that PEC delivery would add I called and asked the guy who runs the program (found him just by calling and asking) if I should just book a course because it’s the same price. He make sure I understood that there’s a LOT more to the PEC delivery experience than the driving time and they’re SO right. Not to rub salt in it, but it felt like a lot more than just a lunch. They really try hard to make it special, and at the end of the day I was choked up. It’s going to be one of the most memorable days I’ve had for a really long time.

That's great that you had a good experience! I'm planning to write a letter to the CEO of Porsche NA and the owner of the dealership.
