I own a base Cayman and my son has been telling me I should have the calipers painted red (like the Cayman S) since the day I brought it home. What's the best way to get that done? Would you bring it to a body/paint shop? What should I expect to pay?

There is a company here in Southern Calif that comes to the house or office and will do it for you for $350. I have not had it done yet. There is probably someone in most areas that will do the same. Plus they usually have the high temperature Porsche decals needed to complete the job. But if you are handy and have a way to do it then it probably is not all that hard and I am sure there are plenty of YouTube "How too's"

I actually have the red calibers and want to change them to either black or Chalk(exterior color). The grass is always greener. I am tired of red calipers as I have had them on my last 3 cars. But I will probably never get around to doing it although I did just order new black aluminum trim for the interior which I was not really planning on doing. These Porsche's make you do darndest things:)

I was going to ask Porsche to put the red calipers on my base Boxster, then investigated getting them painted 'cause they looked so good on the showroom cars. In the end I decided that black looked better as the red would have been another colour on the car.

Didn't want to be a poser by painting my base Cayman's calipers red, like the S, so I had them done by my PPF guys, in Miami Blue.
