This is a pretty inexpensive replacement filter for the OEM. Does it really make a difference or is it "just a good thing to do"?

You will not notice any power gains - but with full bolt ons and a tune where the engine is flowing more air, the gains would be slightly better - as if a cherry on the sundae. You will notice a very slight increase in intake / turbo sound. I've heard this in person on the 718 and 991.2 Carrera. Naturally aspirated cars - it's harder to discern any difference.

The design of the oiled filter is that you have larger pores for air to travel through, while the oil catches the particulate that would otherwise go through. Depending on how often you drive, you'll need to clean / re-oil the filter every year or so.

Let me know if you need one, I'll take care of you. :)

Does anyone know how involved this is to install? Is it a few minutes or something that's more elaborate?

If anyone is interested in doing a before and after review on the BMC filter, I'd be happy to extend my best possible pricing to help the forum get more feedback.

We can provide a heavily discounted pre/post dyno session too. :D

would love to take you up on that, and probably a tuning, but OR is just a little too far of a drive for a dyno session from OH :)
