So I've read various threads about folks having wastegate sticking, causing low boost.
I checked mine, and the wastegate lever fully closes normally.
Moving it back and forth, it is smooth, and needs a lot of hand pressure to move against it.

Reason I'm looking at this is because I feel I have issues with boost not holding.

In sport mode, 2nd or 3rd gear pulls, full throttle, boost pressure builds to 18psi, but then immediate drops down to ~13psi.
Should it hold 18-21psi under full throttle?

Is the pressure converter (control solenoid basically) healthy? Any weird fluttering noises from the air intake when you turn the engine off?

Is it dropping to 13psi during the shift? That would be normal.

I’ve kinda wondered this too and never really saw the answer given… I build boost up to 18-20 psi and then it drops quickly, sometimes to 0, can’t remember if that’s during a shift or just when releasing the throttle pedal.

I do not feel a lack of boost/power ever, in any gear, so I’ve ultimately never worried.

Hugh recently had his replaced. I doubt it's a particularly tricky job once the covers are removed:

The hole work can be done in 2-3h if you never done it before.
I changed that 2 times on my 2.0l Boxster. Porsche has upgrated the valve in early 2022. There is a new version with a new part number - i don´t know.
Once you got the roof in service position all other work is easy. To get the metal cover out without damaging the trunk cover is another strory.

The valve sits under the air filter Box. But to remove the air filter housing is the trick. It has no screws just clicked in with plastic gormets. You have to give it a hard pull with an anoying sound when it comes lose.
Than you can access the valve.

I have a boxster Base 2021. On the boost pressure when i accelerate it reaches a high number (maximum) but after reaching a certain RPM it decrease a litlle. I thought it was normal ? It is not ?. And i have a strange noise that some people think it is a waste gate issue , the video is here 15 octobre 2022

Don't happen to have the new part number, do you? Also, where did you source this part?

Thanks!

Nah, just have the old one.
Bought the valves by a googled part shop, i took the cheapest one.
Runs 1 1/2 years than it wants to be changed again. This is why i took 2 valves, to have one in spare.
