Hi All,

I am a new owner of a 2017 Boxster S (2.5 weeks). It had no issue when I got it, but on the weekend it started having an issue with the passenger window when the roof is up. Basically it seems to think there is a problem when it moves to the up position and lower a few inches. I noticed this first when putting the roof up. At the end of the roof up phase, it automatically closes the windows, and the passenger window does this and then goes back down a few inches. I tried putting it back up using the auto mode (full press) and it just repeats the same issue. I had to use small presses to get it as far up as I could before it goes down itself.

I saw elsewhere on the forum there is a reset procedure, but this seems to require the window be in the full up position with the butting pressed, and mine won't do that (unless the roof is down). Is there a procedure I can do to reset this issue? Or is it back to the dealer to sort it out?

Cheers,

Adrian

The reset is to pull and hold the button so the window goes up and hold it for at least 3-5sec after the window is up..
So you must hold the button for the whole closing cycle and 3-5 after the windows is closed.
Try it with roof up or down and see if it helps

I didn't drive the car during last week until the weekend, and I did this window calibration procedure with the roof down (I could do it with the roof up because the window would just come down again when it reached the top). The issue seems to have corrected... not sure if that was the reason though as I did it without a before test. Thanks for the tip!

I do have another issue now with the rear wing (which will not go down)... will do my research before posting.

If you're like me after first getting the car and tried the rear wing manually while parked to see if it's working, note that you have to press and hold the button for it to go down if you're moving 0-15kph. If you just tap it, it won't go down automatically unless you're going over 15kph. Hopefully that's your issue! (It's in the manual but it's not intuitive behavior, so I thought mine was broken, too!)

That is exactly the issue... I just went and tried it holding it down, and all good!! I had the SC I mode set to put the wing up and stopped the car in that mode and it stayed up. Then when I restarted it in normal mode, it was still up. Pressed the button thinking it would go down and it did not.... but did not realise you had to hold it down. I had only done it at speed before and it had retained the position I expected when I momentary pressed it. So thanks for that... Looks like I am all sorted without a dealer visit of windows or rear wing!!

Me 2! I wonder how many of us new owners got terrified when the wing wouldn't come down and thought 'I broke the bloomin' thing'...
