Congratz! I'm sure its worth the wait!!!
Mine should arrive early June (first in the country) with the next allocation in September. What's your build? Very curious.

Btw, don't expect too much activity or replies from forum members after mentioning "GTS 4.0". Its weird but this forum feels very different from "MacanForum" where everyone is friendly, supportive and cheerful regardless to what model you're driving or buying.

Cheers!

Hi I have just been given a build date of May 20 for delivery in UK in late June early July for Cayman. My OPC said they had only been allocated 3 one in May one in June and one July.

Cant wait...
Congratulations on the coming ride! We expect pictures of course! ?

EDIT: I suppose this is actually the type of response you expected. Sorry, I'm not try to be a d!ck.

I'm not sure why one would post that people are not friendly, that's just asking for the inevitable.

As for the difference... Do you have a 2.5T GTS? (I don't for clarification). I'm assuming you do not, but let's assume you did... How would you feel knowing that as a whole, Porsche just took a dump on the car and heritage they sold it on? Would you feel slighted?

Perhaps if you considered your attitude in your introduction message, you might have got more than this Moderator's welcome...:censored:

Hi there!
...
To be honest I have never considered T4 cayman (for the reasons that are not safe to discuss here ;) ) even though I have driven lots of them (including GTS) and I agree with everyone who says it is a great driving car.
...
Bolding is mine...

You are basically accusing the forum membership as a whole, of not making it a safe place for discussion. From the start! First message...

Is this your way of making friends?:ROFLMAO:

Do you really think you are badly treated, if met by silence?

First, a little education. The reason I and many others are here instead of other forums is due to the vast amount of internet hate directed at the 4T. You might want to keep that in mind. And in your introduction you displayed a bit of that attitude. Folks on here are plenty friendly. We may be a little wary of folks who want to talk down to us due to the number of cylinders in our motors.

Let's put it this way...what if you had gone on to a generalist Porsche forum and everyone had made jokes about your Audi and said it wasn't a real Porsche?

Rodney, enjoy your car! We need some build details tho. (I wanna see more pictures of the green if that's the color you got.)

Just being sarcastic about a general mood here after the "4.0" news. I've read a lot of threads here before posting this introduction and that was the impression I got. Wasn't trying to hurt anybody's feelings anyway.

"Friendly attitude" doesn't mean "friends", right? I might be wrong as english is not my first language. I'll trust you on this one.

Don't give a **** about the treatment. Again, was talking about my general impression about the forum.

Congratulations on the coming ride! We expect pictures of course! ?

I feel your pain! I would be very p*ssed off as well.

Can't wait for "the inevitable".

I'm happy with my Audi/Porsche Macan! Seriously, it's an incredible ride, great looking, quick and fun to drive... but I do feel it's a Porsche for the ladies. Would I buy it again? Yer G.D. right I would!

I can't type in Trumps Voice... so say this in your head for me "I like it, I like it very much... but it is definitely, it definitely is a chicks car!"

"I have driven lots of them (including GTS) and I agree with everyone who says it is a great driving car." That was my way of appreciating this forum. Couldn't do any better than that.

Not really sure what you're talking about.
And what's "Trump's"? Is it a disease? If so I wish you get well soon!

I don't need to paint a picture about somebody, who on his own free will states that he is 'sarcastic' towards the membership and its mood. That in his introductory post.

It's like visiting somebody's home for the first time, being introduced to the host's family and then dropping his trousers and taking a dump on the rug because he thinks that the family is unduly proud of their rug.

Anyway, I think we spent too much time on you and your asinine personality.

People, this is a thread to welcome @Rodney718 in our forum, not to give an opportunity to @bmf to display his rude personality.

Congratulations. Look forward to seeing the car and driving a 4.0 myself (test drive that is).

I'm sure once 718 4.0 deliveries start happening there will be more chatter on here about how good it is and various other aspects! If it is anything like the 2.5t which essentially it is, I'm sure you will find it a cracking sports car.

Here are my thoughts...

When the 4.0 is in driver's hands and we start getting reports, I will want to hear them. I will want posters to love their cars & say that. Give us information, photos in great places, videos on great roads/tracks - basically show us your love for your cars. That's what we give our cars and I would expect the same from anyone getting the next generation of 718.

At the same time, if I hear more comparisons and derogatory comments about the 4T sounds I might just quit. Let's drop it and move on.

So, to summarize, show us the love for your car not the disrespect or hatred of something else! :)

Hi. I did not want to start an argument. Well here goes. I have until April to make up my mind but im thinking Porsche Code PLA4CPU8.

Thanks for the love...
@Rodney718 , you did nothing wrong. Your introductory thread was hijacked and we were all trolled.

I think that the 718GTS (4.0 or otherwise) is a fantastic car!. You should follow your heart and you will be rewarded.

You drive the F4T cars differently than the NA-6 ones and you really have to be introduced to them by someone that knows how to do it.

For example, you don't go to the red line with an F4T. You drive the torque curve. The torque is more lower in the range. You can't get to the highest gear in mere mortal speeds, so it doesn't pay to hold out on your shifts.

With an NA-6 you drive the horsepower curve. It pays to go to the red line. You may or may not get the 'wail' with the GPF muffled cars... It is a different beast and a fast beast in the high RPM (over 4k). In city driving, it is not as rewarding, because you cannot go screaming around between 5000-7000 RPM.

In the meantime, test-drive an F4T, more than once if you can. Test drive a 4 lt NA6 also. If you can get one.

Follow your heart!:)
