Burmester is worth buying.

Maybe I'm the idiot but for my Cayman I don't intend on getting either system.

As long as the stock stereo is loud enough for me to listen to my audio books while the windows are up I'm happy. The other 90% of the time I'll just listen to the engine.
the base SPP should work fine for what your intended uses are with speech recordings - and a way to save on the build costs

it still is worth it. Strange bonus?

The microphone probably is the same for all models. not sure. But, the clarity of hearing people talk to me while driving is NUTS. lol almost $5000 to hear my girlfriend scrape cat litter in pristine quality while talking to me.

(every freakin time i call she is scraping cat litter, no joke)
be glad she stays on that task, otherwise the smells...

I would say for the low quality tweeters and the mediocre mids should not be related to the size of the space.
I am wondering if the components themselves are different in the Macan vs 718.
every optional audio system, whether Bose or Burmester has different setups be it the 718, 911, Macan, Cayenne, Panamera

different speaker counts and each model beyond the 718 has more amplification power as well

Why make posts like these especially on a thread about the Burmester system? I only listen engine when driving the car, c'mon be realistic.
or is it rationalizing getting the SPP base system - and being 'happy' about that

As I've mentioned (and others) a short drive I may have audio off - but a longer drive listening to tire noise / road noise for hours on end...no.

Oregon had the roughest paving surfaces I've ever experienced (lived there nearly 10 1/2 years) - it was so bad that someone on a Bluetooth call asked what the noise in the background was. Cross over the WA state line or CA and it was smooth, quiet pavement.
