When I wanted to push the 718 PDK by hand about 15' in my shop, I couldn't. Hold light = not on. Brake light = not on. PDK in N. Can't remove key with PDK in N. Tried to push with key in Acc. and Run positions. Tried to push forward and backwards. When trying to move car by turning the left, drivers side rear wheel I can hear a clunk when the wheel rotates a couple degrees. The same sound occurs when it is in park so I assume it must be in park even when the PDK said N. If I can't move it how would a tow truck driver load it? Just drag the non turning rear wheels? Help!!

Just read page 258 in the on line owners manual. It states the engine must be running for the car to be towed!!! So how do you load it on a tow truck with a dead power plant? Is this German tech at its finest?

I'm sure I just pushed mine a bit with engine off (when I was testing the spare tire fitment that I wrote about here).

But I was sitting in it and a friend pushed. Maybe a seat sensor? (my riding lawn mower has that )

Turn on key.
Foot on brake.
Gearshift (PDK) to neutral.
Turn key off.
Take OFF parking brake. (Yes, it has turned on automatically.)
Foot off brake.
Push.

AFAIK this only works if not on a slope. If on a slope--the Hold function operates.

Tried the above. Didn't work. Switched the order of instructions & it didn't work. Waited till the parking brake light goes out but the brake is still on & will not move. What if I pull the fuse?

I called my Porsche dealer in Las Vegas & got the answer. The last step is to remove foot from brake pedal. The brake pedal must be pushed for the emergency brake to release! Problem solved. Thanks for your help.
