Car audio shop in SF/Bay Area?

1674 Views 5 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  JakiChan
I put a deposit down on a 2018 Cayman (stop sale from recall so no possession yet). The only feature it doesn't have is an upgraded sound system. I'm a bit of an audiophile, so one of the first things I'd like to do is upgrade the speakers.

I'd like to do a mid level upgrade, but I want it done well. Can anyone recommend a car audio shop in the Bay Area with experience working on 718s? I'm uncomfortable with someone taking apart my car and learning about it as they go along.

Thanks for any recommendations.

Can't help with any specific shops in that area, but keep in mind that our cars are still pretty new, so finding a shop with specific 718 experience will likely be extremely difficult anywhere in the country.

With that said, it does seem to be very similar to the 981 and 991. The primary difference I've found so far is the tweeter situation. It's in the same place as the 981, but getting the vent out is different.

If you haven't seen it yet, I have lots of pictures in my build thread. It may be helpful to a shop when you find one.
