The mileage reading on my iPhone Car Connect App isn’t the same as what is shown on the odometer. It is off by about 800 miles. Everything else appears to working fine with the Car Connect app (location, door lock, fuel gauge, range, etc.). I tried pushing the refresh button on the App’s mileage Page to no avail. Anybody else experience this? Any idea on how to get the App to show the correct mileage reading? It is a 2018 Boxster Base.

I always wished my cayman had those features... until I got to experience them on our macan

Paid the annual fee for the features, but I have to call just about every other month to have them fix it. Says my subscription is expired... once this next renewal comes up, I’m out! It’s clunky, a PITA and doesn’t do nearly what CarPlay can. Native navigation is nice, but that’s where my love for porsche connect ends.

I called Porsche customer service, and was told that this is a global problem with car connect, and that their tech team is aware of this problem and are working on it. They didn’t provide a forecasted date when they expect it to be corrected, nor did they know how they would notify us when (and IF) it is fixed.

HooosierDaddy, I am also a big fan of Apple CarPlay and use it all the time. However, Apple CarPlay doesn’t provide the features that I get with a Car Conect, namely being able to use my smart phone to check amount of fuel in tank, Mileage, lock the doors, location of where I parked the cars and directions to get there, next scheduled maintenance, tire pressure, able to put limits on distance etc when someone else is driving it, etc. However, Porsche charges a high annual fee to keep CarConnect active and I will need to consider if it is worth it next time my subscription is up for renewal.

Mileage started showing an incorrect figure about a week ago but everything else is OK. But I have never been able to lock the car remotely. Under which category is that? 2018 Cayman.

I think all these remote options require more than 1 second press to work! I find the horn button very useful in the Texas shopping mall parking areas. It is very difficult to spot the low lying crocodile among the monstrous SUVs and extended cab trucks, even if you are 2-3 cars away. The 'take me to my car' feature is great, but sometimes it isn't granular enough to show the next aisle of parking or whether the car is hiding 2-3 trucks down the aisle.

I used the Geo-Fencing when I had a parking space in Manhattan. I am not anal enough to Geo-Fence the valet parking when we go (or used to go pre-Covid-19) to restaurants. But it's there if I choose to...

Hmmm. The only option I have under remote is to fold in the mirrors. I have the two-year service scheduled next week so I will ask about this.

I've had the same issue for the past week or so. 9,144 miles on the car odometer displays in the PCC app as 5,681 miles. Definitely not correct, but other than that everything looks ok, including the miles remains until empty.

As an experiment, I went into the PCM and changed my speed display units to km/h. Now my car odometer reads 14,716 km, and the same number on the PCC app. When I switch back to mph, the issue returns, which made me suspect a conversion error.

Using an online unit converter, I input the 5681 miles (incorrectly displayed in the PCC) and converted it to km/h, I get the correct number of 9,144. My guess is that the conversion between units is done in the incorrect manner. Their system thinks my car's 9,144 miles is in km, so converts it to mph for the PCC app display. I wonder if this issue is only being seen by those of us that use mph, not km/h.

As long as my car is correct, I guess I don't really care. For my usage, the PCC app is kind of 'meh' anyhow. When the subscription runs out in July, I'll delete it.

I just noticed the same thing. It's not just me, then. PCC is taking the miles from the car, putting that number through a km to miles conversion, and displaying that in the app. I guess it's good to know that they know it's happening. @ZigZag which number did you call to report the issue?

The mileage is synched again too but there is still no way to lock/unlock the Cayman. The only thing under Remote is the ability to fold the mirrors.

It will show whether it is locked or unlocked, but no button to lock it.

In another panel you have the ability to make the lights flash or to ring the alarm, by pressing horn or flash button for more than a second.

The Car Connect App also shows if a door or window is open too ...but no usefully functional button to close the window. Risk-politic madness no doubt.

Just as for the unlocked icon above one has to then actually go back to the car and, once within FOB range, complete that which was not originally done. Somebody could STILL get their darned fingers caught in the closing window action... so why the unwelcome lack of such useful functionality? Surely it's not rocket science or beyond reason?

The Car Connect App's button to fold the mirrors is also a waste of functionality if the mirrors are in any case set to 'fold on locking' in the MFD options. How DID we get away with being given/sold/miss-sold that pointless redundancy against the usual risk-politic of someone nearby fainting with fright possibly launching a punitive class action or lawsuit :-/

As for "It is very difficult to spot the low lying crocodile among the monstrous SUVs and extended cab trucks..."
In those situations one bends down to look through underneath the monstrous SUVs' massive ground clearances to spot your favourite low lying crocodile ;-)
