Ok, so here's a silly question (isn't that what forums are for?): the center console lid doesn't seem to have much enthusiasm for opening / staying up. Just wondering if the spring inside is weak by design, or if I just managed to get an especially flaccid one. Not that I can pack much stuff in there, but it's oddly annoying when getting your phone out.

Mine's like that too. And when I reach around it to try to hold it up, I end up pushing it down. Really need two hands to operate it while driving. It's a real PITA.

The little plastic piece on the lid that is supposed to latch broke after a week. 2022. So I put very strong magnets *two stacks of two from Amazon) on the base --nof on the lid--of the console and the lid now closes and stays closed!!

Greetings r2thek, your solution to the broken latch mechanism sounds like a good one. I share your problem with my 2022 Cayman in that the tab broke off within a week of ownership. I should point out for future readers that the OP was about the spring that holds up the lid and not the latch mechanism which holds it down. Thankfully my spring is sufficiently sprung.

Mine broke after the first day after not realizing the release was on the passenger side. Is the top lid magnetic? Or did you also have to attach magnets to it? Do you have an Amazon link?

Bumblebee's lid works fine. Stays open when raised. I've even velcro'd my CarPlay 2 Air to the underside of the lid. I keep my SunPass toll dongle, PCA membership badge in the bin. Since the CarPlay 2 Air has a pass-thru USP port I have a long extender cable that passes through the forward passenger side of the bin with the lid closed to run iPad's; MacBook Pro's, digital camera charging, etc. on the passenger seat.
