I’m a general amateur when it comes to washing or cleaning the 718 GTS.

How should I clean the black tailpipes ?
Well firstly, do you mean the black outside and/or the inside part that you can see in?

What do you do at the moment and how you are wanting it/them to appear
Different using another method beyond eg soap and water, brush, cloth!
Serious question!(y)

I need to clean mine also!

Ive been told to use a wheel cleaner spray, sponge and shampoo. To get it really shiny then finish off with some metal polish. Autosol is the recommended choice.
For goodness sake don’t use metal polish on black tailpipes!

are these serious questions, if you’ve never cleaned it for a year try soap and water for starters(y)

Hopefully my experience will help others save their black tailpipes. The black coating is EXTREMELY thin. Be very gentle cleaning them! Probably nothing more than a wheel woolie. Thinking I was removing old buildup from the winter, I kept aggressively wiping with a microfiber towel only to discover that the “buildup” I was removing was in fact the black paint coating! Fortunately it was only the insides of the tailpipes, but nevertheless they looked like crap. I just finished redoing them with gloss black high temp. caliper paint. Seems to have got them looking good again. My previous Porsche had stainless steel exhaust tips so I was not used to needing to be so gentle. Those I could use steel wool on. But these black tips should be treated very gently for sure.
