Has anyone tried this? If so, your impressions and if you installed it yourself - I'd love to know.

Clear Sone Guard Film

I like the idea of a little protection for track days, but I plan on keeping the car for one or two years, so I don't want to put PPF on the whole rear. For $50, if I screw it up, it's not a loss.

I've got to stay off the Suncoast site, especially after a cocktail or two :)

Thanks,
Valerie

I speak from little experience, but I don't think those will be that much help on the track. Most damage/impact will be frontal and most likely from rubber debris. Some folks use track wrap as an inexpensive and disposable way to protect the front of the car. It is available through multiple vendors who sell PPF in roles of varying lengths and widths. I have not applied this type of product but watched others and it doesn't seem too complicated - the cosmetic appearance is not important as much as the short-term protection.

Having had my car on the track already, I don't recall much issue in that area (though, I do have full PPF protection). The areas where I saw the most rubber marks were along the front bumper of course, but also in the areas both in front of, and behind the rear wheels. (between the mid air intake and the rear wheel well, and the lower rear bumper area between the wheel well and the exhaust)
