Is there anyway to reduce the amount of force required to press the clutch? The 718 has unusually stiff clutch compared to other cars I've driven.

I read some 911 posts and it's not an easy task (have to take off the dashboard, $3K bill once said and done).

I'm not sure what other Mts you've driven, but the clutch feel on our cars is relatively light. I also provides nice feedback as to where it picks up and releases the pressure plate.

I've driven the following cars that were manuals:

2016 Camaro ss
Evo IX
WRX
GT4
M2 COMP
S2000
Focus st
Fiesta st
Several Gen M3's
911 turbo
Many many modded cars with 6 Puck aftermarket clutches.

I squat and deadlift around 415 lbs. so it's not like my legs are weak either.

So relatively speaking, it's stiff. Drove the M2 Comp back to back and that was actually lighter.

I think my 2018CGTS clutch is about the same as my old GTI's clutch, just a bit stiffer than my old Honda Accord clutch, and lighter than my wife's old Subaru GT clutch.
I don't understand. Are you sure your weights aren't 415 milli-lbs?? Maybe your clutch has an issue. Did you purchase your car new? If not, if question if something is not stock.

Well then, with your experience, rather than talking about changing the diaphram spring, maybe taking it back to the dealer would be the smart thing to do. Sounds like something is wrong if you can squat 415 and not push in your clutch comfortably. I don't have that issue with my MT.

My lower back at the moment is saying 415 lbs all day.

Going to take it to the dealer and check. I mean it's not THAT bad. The best way to describe it is that it's very springy.

Having a PDK I can't really comment on this, the 911T I test-drove had a hard but not impossible clutch, it was just that the range it engaged was a bit short (finicky) which wouldn't be a good thing for my better half. The only other car that felt like this was a 370Z I drove years ago.

Anyway, I think a trip to a mechanic is highly advisable, I don't know if at the end of the clutch life the spring feels harder, my son three weeks ago had to replace clutch and flywheel in his Mazda and (according to him) the only signs were very small range of engagement and a stiffer clutch, no slipping. No trace of friction material left either. Just a scorched flywheel.

Perhaps the previous owner consumed the friction material doing launches, to show how fast he was...

The clutch travel is long for these cars. And I did test drive another manual gts and felt about the same. Don't know, maybe I just need to get accustomed to it.
