Hi, does anyone know who in the UK sells leather dye for the leather colur, Crayon? With a Sports Plus seat it is just a question of time when the side bolsters will need redying.

I have tried Googling and Ebay and while there are lots of colurs for BMW and some for Porsche, I cannot find Crayon in any of the Porsche colours.

Found this via a quick google search.

There are other companies that will match the leather if you send a sample, which isn't easy to come by with our cars.

Good luck.

Thanks, I found that one yesterday but no one was picking up the phone and there are no other contact details on their website. I found them on EBay and sent them a message but no reply back yet. They don't have Crayon on their list of colours but looking again, I can see Chalk.

Looking on the internet and people are saying Crayon and Chalk are the same for an exterior colour, it just depends on where in the world the colour is mentioned. So I can only assume that would be the same for the colour of the leather?

That is correct for the leather colour - chalk/crayon is the same. Might also want to use the German naming which is Kreide

Now 8 months later and I am in a position that I do need to get leather dye for my seat. I have been in email contact with Colourlock and carleatherdye and both need sample of the seat leather but I can not see where I can take the sample from. As it i now it is 8 months late has anyone bought leather dye from a UK/EU supplier for their crayon/chalk/Kreide seats since I started this thread?

The damage (I just found out) is due to zip tag on a pocket in my hiking trousers (I have a few pairs) when I get into the car .

In case anyone in the UK are looking for dye for these seats in the future, I could not find a sample of leather I could send off so I gambled on ording dye from apl-chemicals on Ebay.
The colour I ordered was Chalk (Kreide) and was a perfect coplour match. It looked mid grey when I put some on paper but in the end was a exceleent match - it must be an optical illusion! Only downside was the smallest bottle was 500ml and 5% of that would have been enough. It cost £24.99.

Looking forward to seeing your handiwork and how the product looks after treatment. Thanks in advance for posting your after treatment pics!

Couple of days ago I was watching YT video about leather restoration and the I was amazed with the technology used to match the color.
They don't need a sample, they just use a small scanner.

I'm afraid that this is only in US but maybe there's an equivalent in EU

Details are in the video description.

The car is in the garage at the moment. When I get it back I'll upload a photo.
It has had a leaking water pump replaced under non Porsche warrenty. I have been waiting since yesterday for the garge I bought the car from to pay the Prosche Specialist for replacing the pump. Despite being told multiple times since yesterday afternoon that payment will be made, they have still not done so, so I cannot get my car back from the Prosche Specialist!
