I am thinking about what color I want to order for my next Porsche. Replacing my 981-S metallic black (Basalt I think was the name at the time). I've love my 981 and the color. I think however that the GT4 should be something more special than black. Thinking about blue but needs to be something other than blue metallic (nice but starts to look like a toy car after awhile to me). Thinking of paint to match or perhaps one of Porche's other "standard colors".

The config only has the metallic blue. Does anyone know about the procedure for getting the GT-4 in Night Blue or Graphite Blue for instance (which are not on the configurator)? Do they charge like they do for paint to match (and hopefully not the same charge!)?

Has anyone does a blue paint to match that they want to share photos of?

Decisions, decisions . . . .

Really....? I would think PTS would definitely be offered on the high end/specialty models and particularly the GT cars. If PTS is the same cost as a "Standard" Porsche color not offered I'd definitely be PTS and come up with my own blue.

PTS gets offered in manufacturing 'windows', if you can secure a slot in that window you can get PTS, if you don't you can't. It isn't always offered though and often depends on where you live (for e.g. the UK forgo PTS on GT cars in exchange for more build slots).

@phroenips is correct in that if you want a colour not currently offered (even if it was previously) it is considered PTS and will attract the same cost. While it is called Paint To Sample you need to be aware that if you create your own paint colour it needs to be submitted to Porsche for testing and approval. This can take a long time and would likely mean you would miss your production slot. There is a list of colours that have already been approved for PTS, which your dealer should be able to help you with.

The color scheme for the GT4 is really...muted. I'd probably do Miami Blue, but that'd be my third choice. Second choice would be Lava Orange (like my CS) and first choice would be PTS in Martini livery...or Gulf blue. :)

I likely will do Gentian Blue. I love seeing the bright color GT’s on the road......I drive fast and want to ride under the radar as much as possible so they are not for me.

You are fortunate enough to be considering at a GT4? Paint to sample!

Porsche has tons of great color options available:

On the other hand, put some livery / decals (classy ones) on it. It has a perpetual spoiler on it that screams "racer" after all.
